However, if you are buying this specifically for local AI work, be aware of the memory limits. While 16GB is plenty for office work, it struggles with larger AI models like GPT-OSS 20B. These models need more than the available unified memory, leading to slow performance. If you plan on running 20B+ parameter models regularly, I highly recommend stepping up to the 24GB or 32GB version. Otherwise, for 95% of people, this is a perfect machine!

I tried to test the mac and I can proudly say that it sucks. (there is 1 plus, my headphones and Wi-Fi did not need to be connected because it is one ecosystem.) CONCLUSION: we throw it into a box of junk.

I'm really impressed with the Mac Mini, coming from Windows (laptop). It was very easy to set up & transfer my files from my Windows laptop. I have an iPhone, so I was familiar with the OS, but even if you aren't IMO its an easy system to navigate. It paired up with my bluetooth keyboard, monitor and external hard drive smoothly. Bought a couple of adapters to take advantage of the USB-C ports on the back for my peripherals and they integrate perfectly. Works perfectly with my Microsoft 360 apps. I have a small desk in my home office and the size of the Mini opened up desk space. Runs smooth and quick; even the graphics on my monitor are sharper. You get alot of power, speed and integration for peripherals for $500. Really love it and will never go back to Windows.

The best computer in the market for the price. With the M4 chip this computer is really a one size fits all. With a small surface area, this beast is ready for all your basic tasks at lightning speed. Even punching above its weight, ive thrown more pro tasks like 4k editing, music production, and live performance uses. I love this guy, even at the base model I don’t struggle with limitations. Though I do suggest getting external storage instead of upgrading. Ram should be the only thing you upgrade, if you even need it.

Can't beat the price. Better then any starter macbook. Best entry lvl into the MacOS ecosystem. Use it for many things like my schoolwork. Do some coding on it too and works great. plenty of ram. storage could be an issue however I have an external 1tb ssd hooked up to it. M4 chip so very future proof. buy during a discount to make it a better deal I spent around 460 during Black Friday.

I use this Mac Mini for video editing and music production. I was skeptical about the size, but the performance is top-tier. Even under heavy loads in Final Cut Pro, it stays cool and quiet. Pros: The port selection is solid for my peripherals, and the rendering speeds are comparable to much more expensive towers. Cons: I do wish the base storage was a bit larger, but an external SSD solved that easily. Bottom Line: Highly recommended for any creative professional looking for a powerful workstation that doesn't take up the whole desk.

Had an old PC that couldn't upgrade to Windows 11 due to the requirements. Decided to skip Windows and go with macOS. It wasn't a daily use PC so decided on this Mac Mini with the M4 chip. Works absolutely flawlessly. I don't do anything strenuous on this one but everything I do is super fast, haven't come close to maxing out the 16gb of ram nor the SSD. My only issue was that it only had USB-C but that isn't a "problem" or "con" to the machine. I just didn't have any keyboards or mice with USB-C. Ended up buying a new non-Apple bluetooth mouse and used a USB-A to USB-C adapter for my keyboard. Both worked great. Honestly, no complaints whatsoever. Great price for what you get and would recommend to anyone looking for an everyday computer that doesn't require ram or hard drive space-eating software.

This Mac Mini M4 is small indeed, but it is very powerful. This computer is quiet and it is very smooth in operation. I added a 2 TB external SSD to this machine and it is very responsive. Everything opens instantly and works very well. The ports on this machine are fast as well. Over time I plan to add a faster External drive and a new monitor. For now things are great. This is the best budget PC for the money right now and if you need a new computer this is the one you should get.

I updated this M4 from M2, up with processor and 16 G memory. The new one has a better design, small, and cool design. It sit down there quietly, even not any noise not like PC like Dell/Lenov. The only inconvenience is the position of power button. It is underneath but it is ok since most time I leave it on and do not use the power much,
