As expected. Comcast alerted me my Docis 3.0 modem was outdated, I went to this. After a short reset period, all worked as expected. Modem itself, provided no speed increase, unless service is updated.

Among the similar products on the Best Buy shelf, this SURFboard S33 looks to have a well known brand name, updated spec (DOCSIS 3.1) and 2 Ethernet port (1 2.5G and 1 1G). Even the price is a little high, I thought it would be a solid choice. Now, after hours of installation, I feel about it quite differently. The modem part is not bad. It was quick to resolve signal issues with Comcast and then got locks on signals, and then I can connect my laptop to either one of the ethernet ports. Then the disaster began. I had a medialink mwn-wapr300n WIFI router. It is about 6 years old, but still works well with my AT&T modem without any problem. For somehow it can never get DHCP connected with this modem. The event log at the medialink side showed the DHCP requests had been sent. But the modem side is stuck at the "connecting" stage. I tried swapping ports and cables, resetting both of them, power-cycling both of them, updating firmware, changing to static IP. None of the methods worked. This modem's web management UI only shows modem status. It does not show any diag info about its two Ethernet ports (such as the signal status, if there is any DHCP client request, event logs etc). Eventually, I have to go to Best Buy and get a new WIFI router (Netgear AX1800), and connected it to the modem's 2.5G port. Then it works fine with it. But then, its 1G port somehow stopped working. It looks even there are two ports, its internal ASIC or software only only function well with only one active connection. To summarize, the PRO is: At least, the basic modem functionality is working. The CONs are: 1. Web UI lacks down stream ports diag info. 2. Devices at the downstream ports may not get DHCP connected. 3. Two Ethernet ports cannot work at the same time.

The store associate was extremely helpful in helping me finding exactly the product I was looking for and explaining the differences in of the various levels of the product.

Original unit failed within warranty period; replacement made without any issue.

Works flawlessly and it does not drop the signal at all unlike the cable modem I got from my cable provider Optimum.

The modem was easy to set up. The iphone app worked just fine for initial setup. Just needed to make a quick call to Spectrum to get my internet back up and running. I, like a lot of other people, paired this modem with the Eero pro 6E, Like a match made in heaven. Looking forward to using this future proof setup for years to come.

This modem was so easy to work with. It came highly recommended.

Upgraded to Cox gigablast and this (Cox approved) DOCSIS 3.1 modem had great reviews. However, it will not connect. Just blinks green and never connects. Spent 8 hours on my day off with Cox and Arris tech support and...nothing. My other modem works fine through the same connection, but this one shows offline to Cox when it's connected. The minority of reviews are 1 star, unfortunately they are all true. Also this runs very hot like the other reviews mention. Going with a different brand.

Works as expected. This was an upgrade to DOCSIS 3.1 over my previous Arris with DOCSIS 3.0. The upgrade was necessary to access full bandwidth on my internet service package.

Get the most out of your GIG plan from your ISP and also ensure that you have the capacity to upgrade to 2.5 gigs when the time comes

And shes toast. Outside Best Buys return policy so i am trying to get the 15% off a new one. Oh and the self activation is fake. Never had one I was able to "self activate" and the fact that they advertise this should be reviewed by the FCC

Works very well as a replacement for my old modem. Excellent signal and uptime. Recommended!
