    I own my own modem. I refuse to pay $10 a month for something that can cost me way less. I had a trusty MOTOROLA SB6121 for 4 years and it still works. Comcast doesn't and they told me I needed to upgrade as they are no longer supporting the 6121. This one works just the same. The 6183 opened up more bandwidth I was apparently paying for but not receiving with the 6121 and seems to be future proof for the time being.
