Went back to Best buy , purchased another SB6183 and it worked and no problem logging into the modem this time.. ( over 1 hour with Comcast to connect the new modem to their computers)..called ARRIS for warranty replacement .. was told the broken modem needs to be reconnected to Comcast …. so he wanted me to have the working modem taken out of service by Comcast , have Comcast reconnect the non-working modem , troubleshoot the broken modem by the ARRIS telephone operator , then have Comcast reconnect the working modem … I'm like … that's at least 3 hours of my time not including boxing it and sending it in …

By the way, I do own Surfboard from Arris and the product has nothing to with it. This one just not configured properly to work with Optimum.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this modem in the morning had everything set up wasn't getting the correct speed, exchanged the modem thinking it was defective, same issues. not sure if it was the modem or ISP but i Ended up with SB6141 that was up and running in under 10 minutes with correct speed and no issues.

Woke up 1 day to no internet, and when we went to recycle the modem, there was absolutely no power to the unit. Changed the outlets, tried breaking it down and re-installing it, everything, but it's just dead.
