    Not worth the money

I realize that we are constrained by the cable company when considering modems. I would not waste the money on this product since the rental fee for a comparable modem is $8 in my area. Speed tiers are throttled and a purchased modem will make no difference.

I had the understanding that if I upgraded my equipment by purchasing my own my internet speed would be noticeably faster...Its not. I should've just use the equipment from my internet provider...Disappointed

I purchased this as a new Comcast member thinking it was compatible with my internet service because it had written on the box, " Comcast compatible." only to find that it only works for a single computer because it does not give off wifi.

Arris SB6183 arrived. It is supposed to be SPECTRUM compatible. It is Not. Activation is a complete fail. Fix the specification.

I am using the ARRIS SB6183 modem before a Netgear WIFI. Data transmission via this modem is far slower than my old modem from Cox Communications. The stated speed of SB6183 at 686 MBPS seems to be exaggerated.

I bought this Arrow modem to replace the Xfinity high monthly rent equipment. I ordered the modem on the Internet and picked it up during the COVID-19 lockdown, not knowing I needed a separate Router to make it work. I ordered a router on Amazon and discovered it wouldn't work with the above modem, in spite of technical help from the manufacturer. Finally, I ordered on Amazon a Motorola modem/router. Comcast and Arris are engaging in deceiptive practice of misinformation to subscribers and customers.

Wasted two hours of my life on this modem so what’s another 5 mins to warn others. Downstream access was “locked” and there were no configurations available to Edit and unlock it. Called Arris Tech support to see if the could reset and unlock and we were “mysteriously” disconnected after they more or less admitted they could not help us. Ridiculous as Arris used to be a good company. Returned and bought a NetGear router for a few bucks more and was up and running (on Cox) within 10 mins!!!

This my second modem of this make. It works with Comcast. My first died after a storm in that the Ethernet port failed. Coaxial signals are not conditioned

I returned this item tonight and bought a modem for 1/2 the cost. I bought this item after reading the specs and the reviews. Ever since I installed it I could not get any of my Roku's to work (3, 2, & a stick) - all other devices work but not the Roku's. Spoke with the Mfr support, Roku, & ISP... no matter what we did we could not get the Roku's to communicate with Roku servers! Bought a Netgear at 1/2 the cost, hooked it up and now all the Roku's work (as well as everything else)! Is it possible it was defective, sure, but everything else worked.

We first purchased the modem about 8 months ago. It failed after 6 months. Best Buy would not take it back...had to go through the manufacturer. Purchased a second one just so I could get back on line. The new one did not last 2 months. Talking with the Comcast tech, he said that many people have problems with the Arris Surfboard. Best Buy did allow me to return the second one. I purchased a Netgear. So far so good.

I accidentally bought this thinking it had WiFi capability, AND I was sorely mistaken. It works fine over Ethernet though.
