Even though this brand was recommended by my Cable company, this specific model had inconsistent performance keeping connection active. Returned item.

Cannot put in true bridge mode on comcast, that was the reason for purchase, so I returned it.

Absolutely rubbish didn’t make my wifi work had to return

based on the installation sequence, the modem does not appear to include telephone, which is part of my cable package.

I purchased this based on the good reviews and the sales clerk. However it wouldn't work for me as it had no phone jack to connect to.

It was a great modem I never had any issues until now bought it in February 2016 now it doesn’t work on August 2018

I don’t know if it’s a hardware issue, a firmware issue, or a provider issue, but I’ve never had another brand which deprovisioned itself once, much less multiple times.

got talked into this moden instead of the gigabit one i wanted the store reps exact words were " you dont need a gigabit modem its overkill for your isp " when i first got it i was waiting on a new computer to arrive and i had assumed it was my computer that was slow when i got the new computers i realized that it was the modem ... at which time it was past the 15 day return mark and im stuck with this bottleneck modem

I purchased this modem to replace my RCN Modem. Despite the good reviews, this modem didn't work for me. It has issues downloading large-ish sized files. For example, it wouldn't download files to update my Apps on my iPhone or Computer. However, the files would easily download using another network. When I re-installed my RCN issued router, everything worked fine.

Used with Netgear router that stopped working. Returned and upgraded to another modem and router.

I had the phone as part of my package, so this modem did not work for me. They took it back though without a problem.

I'm not sure if it's my router or modem, but my system buffers all the time. So annoying.

It's great initially, but as the months went by, the modem kept having more and more issues. It's been 11 months and the modem has completely crapped out on me. Stick with known brands compared to Arris. I am very dissatisfied with my purchase and I basically threw my money down the drain for an 11 month rental. Modem no longer works whatsoever.

Do NOT get this if you have Comcast HSI. Otherwise it's a great modem. Do some research and you'll see why.

I had SURFBoard 6121 for 4 years and it did a good job, however I recently found out that it was listed as an end of life device by Comcast (meaning no more updates or support on their end) and I decided to upgrade to a new model. So with some research, I picked SURFBoard 6183 because of it's 16 channels capacity, it appeared to be a good balance, better and more feature proof than the basic 6141 model and not an overkill like the 6190, right in the middle, just right. Best buy had the best price btw. The install was fairly painless, replaced the modem, restarted everything, connected my laptop and connected to wi-fi. I got then redirected to Comcast set up and registration page, logged into my account and everything activated. Now the results. With this new modem my internet speed literally doubled, of course it all depends on your ISP and plan, so result may vary. Not much more to say, the rest is handled by a router. It's a very good modem, for a good price. Stay away from the basic 6141 because ISP's (like Comcast) are already listing it as EOL. Enjoy.

If you have spectrum just upgrade and go with there new modems don't waste your money
