Plugged it in, set it up, works perfectly. my previous modem kept dropping my internet connection, now it's rock solid.

I received a notice that the cable modem I purchased for Xfinity/Comcast (Philadelphia) years ago was no longer supported and had to be replaced by March, 2023. I'm on one of the lower tier plans (200Mbps), so I decided I did not need to splurge on a higher end modem as the max speeds of this unit are much higher than what I am getting from Xfinity. The process was pretty easy and took about 20 minutes. I simply replaced my old cable modem (plugged into my separate Wifi router) and followed the instructions on the Xfinity app to register the new equipment on the network (which basically just requires to enter the MAC address of the new modem and wait about 15 minutes for it to be activated). I had to reboot my Wifi router to get reconnected to the internet after the modem was activated, but that was really the only hiccup. If you're tech savvy, this is a pretty easy way to save yourself the modem rental cost. My last cable modem last 9 years. You will your cell phone with data service to activate your cable modem since your internet connection will be down while you're doing this process. I was on the fence about this or the DOCSIS 3.1 version that ARRIS makes, but decided to just go with the cheaper one and see how it goes for a while. No issues so far. I decided to purchase this at a brick and mortar store like Best Buy rather than online so that I would be able to easily return it if I ran into any problems activating it on the Xfinity network, but I didn't have any problems.

Be warned, not all modems are equal. Just because it says docsys 3.0 doesn’t mean you’ll have a great experience. This modem is a good one. I had a customer who was using a different brand with similar specs and was constantly having network issues. The manufacture of the other brand couldn’t figure it out the Internet service provider could not figure it out. it was driving him insane. I recommended he try switching from his old modem to this one, and magically all of his problems disappeared. Also his actual speed in his home increased as well.

This is hands down the best and most reliable cable modem. At its low price it oboe makes sense to buy this modern rather than rent one from the cable company! Until internet speeds reach past 1 gig this is the perfect modern for residential or commercial applications. Pair it to with one of the mesh wifi routers and never experience slow internet speeds again.

I bought this modem to replace my TWC leased modem. The hook up was easy and sraight forward. I could not get on to TWC automated activation line and had to call their customer support to active the modem. I am getting better than the speeds I am paying for and that's over wifi. This modem was overkill because TWC does not come close to the speeds the modem is capable of. It only bonded on 8 channels. I have noticed that the modem does seem to run very hot. A day or two after installing the modem I lose Internet and had to reboot the modem. I noticed then that it was very hot. I hope this is not a problem down the road. I would recommend the modem, but if your cost conscious you my want to go with the SB 6183.

The ARRIS SURFboard SB6190 Cable Modem has significantly upgraded my internet experience. With its 32x8 DOCSIS 3.0 channels, my connection is not only stable but impressively fast. Setup was straightforward, and the modem's sleek design doesn't clutter my space. A great investment for seamless streaming and smooth online activities.

I purchased this cable modem to replace the one I rented from my cable company that received terrible speeds. I was paying for 400Mbs and was only receiving about 150Mbs. I was constantly calling Spectrum to complain and every time they would switch out the modem. I finally had enough and decided to purchase my own and got this one . This modem has plenty room to grow since it will do up to 1.4GBps. Since I switched modems I'm now receiving 460Mbs as a constant with no flaws so far. This modem works with just about every cable company. It won't work with AT&T, Centrylink or other phone companies that supply internat access.

I purchased this modem because my ISP indicated that my old modem was out of date. I just connected the modem to my cable and within minutes I was up and running. No issues there. As for performance, I noticed a great improvement in speed. I have 150 mpbs internet and with my old modem I was connecting at around 100. With the new modem I now connect at a steady 160 - 170 and have experienced no drops. The only negative I would say is the case is thin plastic and a bright blue light shines through the case and I find that distracting so I hide the modem behind a chair. Other than this, I would highly recommend the modem.

The set up was easy and it works like a charm added the app and the pairing was fantastic.

As other reviews have mentioned, you can actually get faster speeds than what you're paying your ISP for with this modem, and I am no exception. We pay for a 300 Mbps internet plan, and with this Surfboard, my speed tests consistently come in at 350-or-so. I'm not a crazy power-user who is going to take advantage of all of the intricate features of this modem, but as someone who just wants reliable, fast internet, I am satisfied. Blazing fast speeds, no issues after several months of ownership (no need to reset it yet), and no complaints. It works. It works well. It improved our internet speeds. Not sure what else I could ask for!

This modem was very easy to set up, is small and compact, and keeps everything up and running smoothly. Paired it with a nighthawk router and haven't had any issues yet.

This helps us take advantage of the 1gb speeds. Highly recommend it! Easy installation and set up as well. Works great with Xfinity.

I wanted the SB8200 modem, but Spectrum doesn't support docsis 3.1 in my area. So, I bought the next best. Works excellent paired with an ASUS AX6000. At any given time I have 8+ items connected to the network, and there has been no degradation aside from Spectrums own problems. Setup was a breeze. Take your chances with purchasing from Best Buy. I paid for new, and they even replaced the tape on the box to make it look new. The packaging on the inside had already been torn apart. This returned item happened to function well.

Modem is awesome, very reliable, rarely needs to be restarted or hangs up. Frequently pulls speeds 20% or more over my 'paid for' speed with Comcast. Setup was simple.

This modem does the job. It's small, sleek and provides the speed to support my internet service. Easy to install and use.

We walked into the Owasso, Oklahoma store, clueless. I had ordered a modem online, received it, tried to hook it up to replace one we rented from our internet server. Wrong one. I needed the modem/router combo. When we walked in, Alex welcomed us. We explained our dilemma. He asked Ty to help us. Let me tell you,,,,, TY WAS AWESOME. Im dealing with our 4 parents, ages range from 80-90 and still live in their homes. I was frustrated and stressed to the max. I was rambling. He stopped me and said “i feel like you need a hug”. I started crying. He cared. I hugged the fire outta him. My husband walked up and i told him about Ty. He was kinda shocked that he cared. Ty found what he thought we needed, then took the product to his manager just to confirm it was what i needed. It was. We got back to our hometown, hooked it up to my inlaws, (it was for their home) and it worked perfectly. We will be asking for Ty every time we go in.

Reliable and fast modem. Works well with spectrum and much better than their provided ones.

I bought this to replace my old modem/router combo (also made by Arris). The price was great for the speed and other customers with Comcast, Time Warner, etc. have had success. I have Optimum Online and Optimum/Cablevision was NOT listed on the box of this modem. I arrogantly assumed that all DOCSIS 3.0 modems should be compatible but that's just not how it works. Even though my old modem was Arris and some of Optimum's modems are Arris, this new wave of Arris modems don't seem to be compatible with their system. I tried this one and the cheaper 686 mbps one as well and they just wouldn't provision. The Optimum tech actually told me that some customers have had success with Netgear modems so I went with the Netgear CM-500, which had Optimum/Cablevision listed on the box and it posted instantly. So, in short, I gave this 5 stars because I learned something. It couldn't work with my service. However I would actually recommend this to anybody whose cable company is actually listed on the box. My friend uses this brand with Comcast and has no problem.

Works great, easy set up, no complaints. Very compact and works well for my needs. I play COD sometimes and stream a lot.
