What a great modem for the price. It’s a strong performer. It provides a solid signal and with Spectrum provided a fast connection. Easy to install.

Did not want to pay a rental fee from my internet provider. Wanted to buy this router, but a salesperson at Micro Center convinced me to buy another brand. We, however, could never get that router to connect. Went to Best Buy and purchased the Arris router that I originally wanted to purchase. Hooked it up and after a few minutes, it connected itself without any fuss. Has worked great ever since.

    Perfect Modem for Comcast

I used this modem with Comcast and it works perfectly! I was able to get the "promised" speed of 250mbps with this modem without any issue. It's very easy to set up and plug in. The difficulty comes with getting Comcast to set it up on their end but it had nothing to do with the modem. Would recommend to avoid the monthly surcharges/fees for renting the modem!

For those of you who rent the equipment from your ISP *cough cough Comcast cough* spend the money and get a decent modem. This modem is perhaps a little overkill for my wife and I and our networking needs on a daily basis we still wanted to upgrade and get what we were paying for since we were seeing about 20mbps less than what we were paying for and the most obvious problem in the chain was our 4 year old combo modem/router. The upgrade to DOCSIS 3.0 gives us the room to expand to 1gpbs internet if it ever becomes available where we live or if we move to somewhere that has it. The biggest take away is that for the monthly equipment fee you can buy your own modem and router (THIS IS NOT A ROUTER YOU WILL NEED TO BUY A SEPARATE WIFI ROUTER WITH THIS) to give you better security and tailored for your use that will pay for itself usually within 12-18 months if you consider you'd otherwise be renting it from an ISP.

These used to be branded by Motorola, but the new version is still a solid modem for the price, and is currently working just fine on a 500mb downstream connection from Cox and has no problems with 4k streaming or multiple high end gaming devices running at once

Purchased this to replace Time Warner/Spectrum rented modem. Super easy set up, super fast getting speeds of 70 download and 6 up load on a plan that is supposed to be 60 DL and 5 UL so I'm very pleased with the speeds. And finally the connection is solid, the rented old modem I'd have to frequently reboot. This Arris Surfboard I've never had to reboot, it's been running solid for months.

I purchased this modem as a replacement for the rental modem from Comcast. I also added an Apple Airport Extreme at the time. I am pleased with the performance and consistent speed that I am receiving from this modem. It will soon pay for itself as I am no longer being charged the monthly rental charge for Comcast's modem.

I upgraded from the SB6131 at the advice of the TWC technician. I was having reliability problems with my connection due to an issue with TWCs lines. the additional channels of this model enabled my connection to become much more stable until they could resolve their issue. In addition, it will future-proof my situation because if TWC ever brings Gb cable speeds here, this bad boy can handle it.

Upgraded my internet speed so had to have a cable modem that would handle. I had an older DOCIS 3.0 compliant, but was only good to 100mbs. Tried using the on Comcast provided, but it kept failing. So went with the tried and true SURFboard. Works fantastic!! I reset once a month as recommend by Comcast and I never have any issues. A must buy if you want you to stream or Cruze the internet.

Great modem for the price. I got tired of paying the cable company $11 a month to use their router and modem, so I bought my own and haven't looked back! The speeds I'm getting from this modem far exceed what I'm paying for, and are even better than what I'm getting from my Nighthawk modem that we purchased for our office a few years ago!

My cable company had a deal on faster internet, the only caveat was that I needed to buy a new modem. They offered a similar model for a lot more money and I asked if I could supply my own. They said yes, so off to Best Buy... Great performance. No setup issues. As others have noted, the lights on the modem are extremely bright. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of.

I am a systems engineer by trade. So I spend heavily on the best equipment, and I work from home from time to time. I got so tired of Comcast's freaking hand me down modems, erratic at best. So I purchased a Asus RT-AC5300 and matched it with this modem, joy, joy. I am getting consistent 225mbs down and 11+mbs up. Quality feels good, excellent performer. Highly recommend this modem.

This is a very nice modem that is compatible with both Comcast and Time Warner cable services if you choose to have your own modem for internet. If you have phone service from the cable company, then you may need their phone modem but they will route the internet through this modem and phone through their own modem. This Arris Surfboard modem is very easy to install and works fantastic.

We were having WiFi and wired internet lapses and suspected our two year old Netgear multi gig router. We did not want to spend a bundle, so thought we would use this to troubleshoot. It works great! We run 7 computers, stream music in the warehouse and offices and run 3 camera systems and its handling them all with no problem.

Fast and simple, it took longer for Xfinity to activate it than it did to setup. My older modem was getting sketchy, internet outages were too common. New modem, WOW! Good bye 12.5 mbps, hello to over 30 mbps! This is a top end router so it should last several years, me old one lasted seven. Buffering problems with Netflix, Vudu, et al are gone instantly. Best of all, NO RENTAL fee.

Moved and my only ISP was a cable provider. Did not want to rent a modem. This is worked very well for my family. Great price and fast shipping. I paired this with Orbi and did not like the coverage, so I purchased the google home wifi and I have very fast speeds. I would purchase this modem again.

This tiny little modem packs so much speed under the hood you will have to look twice. This modem has a single WAN port so you will need a router if you want WiFi this unit is supper fast I have a 300 by 150 connexion and I pull far more bandwidth with this unit's ability to turbo boost. and if you have a GIG connection this baby is rated to 1.4GB so you will have all the future proof you need.
