I have worked for a major cable company for 19 years and I can say that this modem is the most compatible one you can buy. The cable modem system is designed around the specs for this modem (and its predecessors). Arris (Moto) is the innovator and industry standard. This model is the minimum you want due to faster internet speed tiers being introduced soon across TWC/Charter areas,

This was used to replace the next model down due to troubleshooting problems with our internet service. The previous model was excellent and met our needs. This was even faster and more reliable. With multiple devices in use, I am glad we got the faster speed model. I will give the older still excellent modem to my Dad so he won't have to rent anymore.

Was having trouble with my IP modem/router combo. While at Best Buy a sales associate recommended this modem and took the time to explain advantages and disadvantages a the various modems. Glad I purchased this one. It is soo much faster than my previous equipment, and will cost me less than 9 months rental of the IP modem/router. Very happy with this purchase.

I finally bought this product with Bestbuy price match from amazon. I've had it for a month now with no issues and fast speeds. I can't believe i've waited so long to replace my xfinity leased modem. you will need a wireless router if you have more than 2 ethernet connections as it is only modem i recommend the Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 as it has solved all my dead spots.

I had a Spectrum modem which was awful. My kids constantly complained about the speed. I had Spectrum out numerous times to repair which never seemed to speed things up. This Modem has been great and has never caused a glitch or slow speed. Love it!

I purchased the SB6190 modem + a 2 piece Nest Home mesh WiFi system to replace the supposedly latest and greatest Xfinity equipment that I had in my home. I had been struggling with poor signal and inconsistent performance for months, Comcast replaced my modem/wifi gateway twice, I was using their Pods mesh system - none of that resolved my issues. When I would call and talk to Comcast support, they would only try to upsell me on a faster service vs. address my issues. I ordered this setup as a last resort. Installation and activation with Comcast was super simple, and I was up and running in minutes. The difference is night and day, absolutely incredible. I should have bought this setup months ago. Signal is strong throughout the house, and we are now consistently getting the speed we are paying for.

the more expensive cable modem i was looking for was out of stock. The Best Buy employee suggested the ARRIS Surfboard Modem. This modem has performed perfectly and was cheaper.

I would first like to point out that this will probably not work with Optimum. I tried to upgrade my modem and it just wouldn't read. I called Optimum for help but they said blah blah blah it will not work blah. I can't blame the item for that though. it was a great size and minimal obstructions and was super fast to setup.... Could have been great. However don't let that stop you from trying if you have another provider, or even if you think Optimum will give you more help than me.

Installation was quick and easy. I’m getting great download speeds.

I was pointed to the unit one "grade" below this one and it was not supported by the cable provider. After spending several hours alone and 2 with a cable company technician, I returned the modem and purchased the correct one. It installed flawlessly and has performed well. So much so that I purchased a second for use in a second home we have and are just as happy with that one.

Don't pay the internet company a monthly fee to lease their cable modem. Buy and own your modem. I have owned many different brands of cable modems in the past and this brand is the only modem that lasted more than 2 years. This is my second ARRIS modem and only purchased a new one for the faster speed support of 300mbs that my internet provider offers.

Works great and take up very little space easy to hook up

So easy to set up. We set up with xfinity, did everything through the app and did not have to call anyone to get our wifi set up in our new home. App takes you through all the steps and it was so easy, even for someone who has never done anything like this before.

This modem has worked great with easy setup and fast speeds.

Our old modem started conking out a while back so went to Best Buy to get a replacement. Salesperson was very helpful and recommended this model - said it would give excellent performance and that spending twice as much would not give noticeable improvement. They were right; this one works great; our home Internet has never been faster.

Incredible power for the price-- I recently needed to upgrade my old SURFboard from 2013 and figured a newer model would get me just as far. No frills, just one ethernet on the back and no integrated wifi, which was great because 11 years later I had a mesh router setup already. Plug it in, go to your internet provider page and register. Internet blazing fast, even streaming fps games and movies simultaneously. You can't find a better bang for your buck!
