Paying for a modem rental is a waste, buy this instead and you will be happy. Great modem, won't need to buy one for a long while.

It’s fast enough but would have preferred the 64gb but optimum wasn’t working with it so had to settle for the 32gb which works great just gets a bit of a small lag once in a while.

If you pick one of these up, especially when they’re on sale, you can save a lot of money by not having to pay your service provider for the monthly rental of a modem and router. When you consider that you pay your service provider $10-$15 a month for the rental this thing it pays for itself within a few months. Plus, it seems to be a better quality product than that which you may get from your service provider; especially when linked to your own personal router.

Upgraded to this model when my old sb finally quit, after 3 years. Way better than renting from nickel and dime warner, (spectrum).

Seems to work for now! I since replacing the old surf model, my intermittent internet has not gone away, so the issue is likely not the modem, time to replace the wifi, except hard wired through my switch still disconnects at the same time... and I already replaced the switch. My neighbor doesnt have these intermittent outages. But the modem seems to work for now!
