    Comcast charges $10+ a month to rent a cable modem... I have not paid that fee in over 10 years saving me over $1,200 - the $140 I have paid for the two cable modems I have purchased outright. Comcast has made setting these up dead simple now too. Just connect to cable wire and go to any website on your computer to get walked through the setup process (as long as you can remember your Comcast account details).
