****NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OPTIMUM**** I'm a 20 year IT professional so definitely did my diligence on this. This modem has very good reviews across the board. Compatibility claims to support most US carriers, but limited info was available about Optimum, but decided to give it a try anyway. Unfortunately, wasn't compatible with Optimum. Tested the line signal and had a tech come out to ensure I was getting optimal performance, but was still a no go. It refused to lock. Tested it on Spectrum at a friend's house before returning it. Noticed a 25-30% performance increase over their existing equipment. Pros: 1. Reasonably priced 2. Twice as fast as most carrier equipment 3. DOCSIS 3.0 - ***DOCSIS 3.1 pending release - date TBD in 2017 Cons: 1. Not compatible with Optimum

It's been a month since I purchased my ARRIS SURFboard Cable Modem. I've not had to reboot it since the day I set it up. It was very easy to set up. The blue lights are actually a nice change compared to my last modem with just the flashing red/green lights. So far so good!

Setup was easy. No problems so far. Reliable. Kids are happy because games load quick.

This is on of the easiest decisions you'll ever make. You'll pay this off in 9 months with your monthly rental savings. Plus it's faster and more reliable. I've been using surfboards for years and this is just another evolution in their great product line.

This is an excellent modem, it delivers as promised and is really easy to connect and activate. I had the same model before, and I decided to replace it for the same one. So far so good for my household.

No issues yet. It is fast enough to cover my 100Mbps Xfinity load. Easy to set up and run. No problems yet. I also like the blue lights. Blue lights are nice. And I do not have to pay a monthly fee for a router from the company.

The Arris Modem was recommended to me a year ago. Mine works great. My daugheter was paying to rent a modem from her internet service provider and needed better performance. It's the perfect modem with no difficulties. Highly recommended if you wish to purchase a modem.

I have had performance problems for years with previous modems. But the Arris-SURFboard has been a steady performer since I got it 10 days ago. Speeds had stayed at the highest level, no more slow speeds. I would recommend this to anyone. One of the best products I have ever bought.

This is a great replacement for my prior Arris SURFboard. It supports the higher speed internet I now have from Xfinity. Plug-and-play installation, other than needing to call Xfinity to register the new MAC address.

It's been awhile since I purchased a modem and I was quite surprised by the size; very small. I don't have a 1gbs connection but it's nice that this thing supports it. It's one of the few modems supported by my ISP. It's definitely doing it's job and it will pay for itself. My only complaint would be that the indicator lights are very bright. I haven't looked into there being a way to dim them.

Great Fast product. Have had several Surfboard modems over the years and this was hot out of the box. I would like to point out a few observations from my point of view. By product type most may look cost/operational effective to procure a cable modem with Wi-Fi as a single product but experience especially with all the home automation, tablets and other wi-fi devices to keep them separate as the service to the home may often change. Also have been back & forth over the years with cable modems both cable supplied ($$/mo) and my own provided. Every time they raise rates after a year low rate and then give a new offer with an added service (voice) for less then the going rate. Another cable supplied modem to add voice and saying they will not charge for modem (till the next rep sees it when there is an issue and start charging $10/mo for the modem. I don't do much gaming (just Real Flight) so I can not say this is "the" best for gamming use but for remote home automation it punches the ticket.

These are really good modems. Simple yet work great! Just remember that when you switch out a modem that you actually have to call your internet provider to let them know. They will then get some info from you in order to get your internet to authenticate with the new modem. Also keep in mind that this is only a modem. You need a wifi router to hook to it to get wifi. It is best to go this route by using a separate modem and router.

I bought this modem after my old modem stopped working. It was a great purchase! I used to have to reset my modem all the time and since I have purchased this modem I have never had to do a reset. It supports my router without fault. I would highly recommend this modem.

We upgraded to this 3.0 modem from an older 2.0 modem and immediately noticed a speed increase. Easy to use and set-up; simple. Remember to contact your cable company when you install the modem as they need to register the modem to your account.

A BestBuy connected home specialist recommended this modem to me and a separate router. I was having super slow internet. My previous modem and router were outdated. This modem is more efficient and is worth the money. Super easy to setup.No more internet problems for me

My cable provider had changed our modem requirements not too long ago. Replaced a modem that just failed so the timing was actually good. Setup with the cable company was good and modem discovered quickly. Modem works at the speed we pay for with no problem.

This allows me to use a fast Internet speed and was very easy to set up. In the last 2 years we've been through three modems and three routers. We've only had these a month but so far they have been very dependable.

Download speed is fast and is compatible with Comcast. Easy to install.

Thanks again to the Geek Squad who helped us dump our completely sub-par TWC/Spectrum modem for this wonderful one. Uninterrupted service and connection. Absolutely no issues since the switch. Geek Squad took care of EVERYTHING with our TWC service and got us all set up. YAY!

Set up was quick, but getting to the website to charge any settings was an absolute pain. The surfboard works great if you can get access to the website.
