This was a replacement purchase. Sales staff suggested this project for my needs. Installation was easy and modem performs very well. I would recommend.

Never had a problem with their products. The technology usually goes out of date before the modem dies. Very reliable and fast. The only problems are the LEDs are so they light up the room at night and no power switch.

Super easy set up (and very fast delivery) - rad price too! This is way better than paying a rental fee to a service provider, which to me, is a huge scam. I wasn't confident enough in myself to set a modem up on my own, but this was way easier than I had thought (pretty much plug and play, enter a code into the computer, and you're good). It's definitely lightweight so hopefully you have a solid spot to put it where it can't get knocked over. Can't believe it took me this long to just pick something and commit. Wish I did it sooner. My internet does have a note on it now that says it's not secure, and I don't know how to fix that, but aside from that weirdness I'm good.

I purchased this device to be the base router for my new Eero system. It was very simple to setup. All I had to do was call my internet provider with the new Mac Address and it was up and running. The router is small and does not take up a lot of space.

Very satisfy with the ArrisSurfboard. Easy to install, and it works beautifully. I don't have to rent the modem from Optimum any more. I wish I could give 6 stars rather than 5..

It's small enough that you can put it almost any where and pairs well with the modem I bought. Has an ethernet port on the back for a router. Only complaint is the lights on the front are really bright and it keeps me up sometimes.

My high speed internet provider sent me this e-mail saying I needed to upgrade my cable modem. With the help of best buy staff and a little on-line review this was a natural. My ISP also recommended this model. It was an easy setup and has been working great.

This is the most cost / effective modem to purchase right now for Xfinity and most cable internet users. The 32x8 channel standard is likely going to be last / fastest version of anything coming out of the DOCSIS 3.0 standard. With a 32x8 configuration, you could have Gigabit internet with this modem. Right now, this one, especially one of the used SB6190s, makes the most cost effective sense because it will allow you to jump onto any of Comcast's 250, 400, 1000 megabit plans without any kind of change.

    Good Modem Saves Rental Cost

I bought this modem so I could return my rental modem/router from Cox, since I had a Netgear router in reserve. After hooking it up and connecting directly to my computer, I tried the online setup with Cox, but was a no-go. After calling Cox support and talking to a representative, the modem was initialized and worked with my home network. Cox did charge a one-time fee to activate the modem. The modem itself was as fast as expected, both when directly connected to a computer via Ethernet, as well as through my router. I have 150 Mb down/ 10 Mb up through Cox, but I bought this modem in case I wanted to upgrade my Internet speed later. The unit does get fairly warm, and the front LED lights are very bright. Otherwise it is a decent unit.

These are really good modems. Simple yet work great! Just remember that when you switch out a modem that you actually have to call your internet provider to let them know. They will then get some info from you in order to get your internet to authenticate with the new modem. Also keep in mind that this is only a modem. You need a wifi router to hook to it to get wifi. It is best to go this route by using a separate modem and router.

This modem is great. It is easy to setup, runs fast, and works well with the google routers I bought with it. I haven't used any Arris products before, but I would say they are comparable to any NetGear product, if not better.

Works as advertised. I've had it running 24 hrs. a day now for about 2 weeks and I have had no issues with heat build up or performance. I subscribe to 200mbs down and 20mbs up service and I average about 210/20. So I am right on target. Couldn't be happier.

I was rollin' old school style with a Motorola SB6120. It worked great but could no longer keep up with the maximum speeds of my new cable plan. Alas it was time for an upgrade! After much soul searching (and a few online reviews) I settled upon the Arris SB6190. After a month with her I must say, she has not disappointed. Not only does she help me reach my maximum download speeds allowed under my current internet plan, but she should be capable of helping me stay maxed out for years to come. If you get an Arris SB6190 and find that your internet speeds still are not what they should be, it's probably you, not her. Check your cable connections as they're run throughout the house. Too many splits between where your cable lines are first serviced to your house and the outlet you have your wee lass plugged into can dramatically impact the overall speeds you're capable of getting.

This modem isn't flashy, but checks all the right boxes for being somewhat "future proof" with Docsis 3.0 and mutltiple downstream channels. This pairs well with my router and ensures I am getting every bit of the download/upload speeds I pay for with my ISP.

We decided to cut ties, as much as possible, with Comcast and the first step was purchasing our own modem. This saves us $10 per month in rental fees and, after a year, this modem will pay for itself. I did an internet speed check with the Comcast modem and with this modem at various times throughout the day, both on weekdays and weekends. We are consistently getting faster upload and download speeds with this modem. The Comcast modem was consistently slower than what we were paying; this Arris modem gives us faster speeds. We did have a slight problem connecting this modem but after reading various reviews and websites found that it is easier to just call Comcast and have them send signals to the modem and 'register' it to your account versus sitting around waiting for the modem to activate. Overall, I highly recommend this modem if you're looking to ditch the rental fees.

Bought this modem to replace the old DOCSIS 2 modem and it a great one. I no longer have to reboot like the old one. It rock solid and my internet speed is increasing. I am quite happy with this purchase. BTW, my internet provider is Cox Communications.

Must have item for cable internet

Cable internet is the fastest option available in my area. Instead of renting a modem and wifi from the ISP, I decided to buy the modem upfront. I'd rather have the control and not rely on calling in or dealing with some automated service. If you're comfortable and confident enough to follow some tutorials and occasionally troubleshoot minor issues, I highly recommend this modem. I used the prior generation as well. It's a solid workhorse that does what it's supposed to do. It's capable of speeds much higher than provider can push my way, so It will be good for a long time without needing to upgrade. Even if the service provider offers a free one, there is usually a catch or some difficulty when returning the equipment that makes the "free" not worth it at all. My experience, my opinion, my choice after much research. From scratch, I built and now maintain/administrate a 32 terminal LAN, CAT6, MIMO wifi 2.4 and 5Ghz after taking A+ cert, I am not an expert but do have some experience and education that I use to give an informed opinion to hopefully help someone else.
