||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although it says speeds up to 1.4Gbps, you WILL NOT achieve those speeds. This modem works great for all plans except gigabit plans. If you have a gigabit plan you need to purchase a DOCSIS 3.1 modem.

Did I really need this?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as it had the highest reviews online and worked with my Spectrum/Charter account. Unfortunately, setup was not as easy as I would have liked as I had hoped as I have service through my apartment complex and so Charter had to send an engineer to install. He installed another Charter/Spectrum modem by mistake and I had to ask him to come back and install mine. After all was said and done, the new modem performs as well as the old one (60down, 4 up) and I feel that I might have gotten away not buying it. Now I am stuck with it though as it is the only modem we now have. Live and learn I guess.

You have to call XFinity to activate the unit. Other than that, it was smooth to hook up and works well.
