    Our previous modem only lasted 18 months, but I believe it took the full brunt of a major electrical storm. Our previous Surfboard to that one lasted ten years, which is more their norm. Make sure you add a lightning arrester where your cable feed comes into the house, and connect its mounting bracket to a lighting rod that you drive deep into the ground, with a heavy solid grounding wire. Of course, you can also install a whole house surge protector before your breaker box for extra measure too, especially if your home sits above the trees.

    hello readers I purchased this Arris modem so I could stop the monthly Fee from my Cox provider.I wanted to lower the cost of doing business with them and paying the upfront cost of the Arris 3.0 modem would do this in time.I really like the new Arris modem and in time it will pay for itself and start putting money in my pocket. I waited for two months to write this review to see if it gave me any issues but it is working excellent. Thank you
