Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a 7 year old surfboard modem that was finally giving up the ghost (SB6140). I chose this one because it was supposed to be 4x faster than the old one (32x4 instead of 8x4), and was exactly the same footprint. Imagine my surprise when it's actually slower than the older one. Latency has jumped to 500+ms to ANY website. Very noticeable in gaming, video conferencing, streaming, etc. This brand new modem should have roughly doubled my internet bandwidth/speed. I was only using about half of the available bandwidth from comcast due to my older cable modem only being 8x4. Unfortunately Ive had issues with this thing since day one. My internet speed is roughly the same, but I'm getting terrible latency to just about any website, service, etc. I finally started doing some research and learned that this modem has the "Intel Puma 6 chipset", and there are ongoing Class-action lawsuits against Arris and Intel for selling these with a known-defect. There is no fix, and Arris is not doing anything for their customers. Fortunately I'm still within the return period so this thing is going back ASAP. Buy something else. I'm definitely going to do plenty of research BEFORE I buy any other Arris products.

Best cable modem out there

I this case I used it in a Sudden Link area with marginal speed at best. But, I chose it because it has so many channels hoping it would always have some that it could lock onto when there were any problems with their distribution. So far it has not disappointed at all.
