Took a while to figure out the lights in the front.

I must preface this by saying that I did not use this product, it was purchased because of its price, potential, and general reviews from consumers. However, after purchasing the product, I read extensive technical reviews and every single one stated to stay from this modem and all others that use the chipset present in it. It apparently has unfixable hardware issues that affect latency. This would probably be why a product that is supposed to be twice as worse (the 16x4, SB6183) is only 15$ cheaper.

Actually worked for Comcast connection. Previous Netgear modem had issues throughout the day.

I called Best Buy and they told me to bring down router and they would test it because it was still under warranty. Went there and they said they do not test them there and that I have to go through the manufacture warranty. Complete waste of time!!! Then for another purchase I had a $5 coupon & tried using it in store& for some reason, it would not take off price of purchase of $7. They don’t even honor their own coupons. What a joke.

Might try it again in the future but couldn't get it to work properly and it was almost hot to the touch on top--not normal. Hope it is a minor malfunction.

You may be able to get a modem, lease free from your ISP. If so, go that route. But if they try to charge you, definitely consider the modem. Remember to check because not all modems work on all isps.

It works, not much else that it can't do or not do.

Price has come way down on these. However, the Docsis 3.0 was already outdated before I purchased... further, be warned that this product HAS NO PHONE JACK. You will need a separate modem for phone or buy a cable modem with a phone jack.

I love this part. I brought it home and followed directions. Called my cable company and it works great.

If your looking for a modem to start a mesh network, then pick this one up its great and has fast speed.

Modem has a lag in pushing data. Internet has pockets of transmission and drops in service. I contacted my cable company to check the line, they stated no problems with the line its the modem.

Modem has issues with Intel Puma 6 chipset. What it does is it lags and will buffer constantly when playing games or viewing Netflix. Websites take longer to load sometimes. If you only need a modem for simple web surfing then you should not encounter any issues. But if you are like me and constantly do online gaming or Netflix I can not recommend. Look else where!! Modem looks nice but does tend to overheat as well. Place in well ventilated area.

It doesn’t supporting 1Gig internet, only works with 240 speed! Disappointed, return back! If you are looking for a lower speed internet, it works great

This is a nice modem. Bought to save the rental fee charged by the cable company. Glad I bought it.

The modem works really well. The internet works sufficiently all the time. It was easy to install.

Stay away from this modem, as it has the Intel chipset in it which is known to be problematic. It's not terrible but there are better choices out there.

It works well wish it came with more than one Ethernet port to have more ways to use it.

Again the Team member did a great job setting me up with the right modem. The modem works great!

I really don`t notice any difference between the Surf modem and the Specrtum modem. I thought maybe a bit more speed but it`s the same.

The green lights indicating signals did not light up when service was installed. Caused confusion with Comcast agents. Call to Arris support confirmed successful connection but still no lights. Seems to work fine
