Decent Router

Expected better performance

Don't buy this modem.

Half the sites we try to visit come back with "The connection for this site is not secure..." If you search for a solution to this, you will find that it is a common problem that may have cumbersome workarounds, but I have chosen to buy a new modem from Nighthawk. I will never purchase an ARRIS product again.

Great product but not the model I was looking for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned this Docsis modem 3.0 for the 3.1 modem. The 3.0 model does not have enough ports for my needs. The 3.1 Surboard is great and has the extra ports needed for extra connection.

VERY INCONSISTENT!!

My job became work-from-home full-time due to Covid 19. After about one month, it wouldn’t keep me online consistently. I would get kicked off my work VPN about 4 to 5 times a day. Called Comcast, they would send reboot signals and still didn’t help. The modem would just reboot itself in the middle of the day often as well. I read online that this modem was one of several affected by a defective Puma Intel chip: https://www.classactionlawyers.com/puma6 Thankful this happened early and I was able to return it. Because my experience with this modem was so bad, I decided to switch companies and try my luck with Netgear. Not sure why this model is still being sold if so many people are reporting consistency issues with it. Definitely would stay away if need reliable internet for work.

Doesn't work with our xfinity internet.

The package and Best Buy indicated that it is compatible with Xfinity. Our speeds were 30 mbps, the new modem (rented from xfinity) gets us up to 140 mbps. No more lagging while playing video games!
