Product works well, but was unable to use the product when I switched to FIOS. Only works with other internet cable systems, as described on the box.

It is a great modem that you need to work with Cox. If you must use COX for service this would be an option to connect.

    SB6190 Periodically Looses Internet Connectivity

Every few days this modem looses internet connectivity for no discernible reason (i.e. no power or ISP outage). The modem's lights indicate it is functioning and is connected to the internet but it has actually lost connectivity. After I unplug it, wait a few minutes, and plug it back in it reestablishes connectivity. Two-three days later I have to repeat the process. The modem is only three weeks old and is already unreliable.

I am not sure if it can handle what it is needed for. I think we should have may be a stronger one.

We keep on losing internet signal

I went to Best Buy and asked for a specific modem because I needed it to be compatible with Comcast. The associate brought this and said it would work and solve my issues. I told him I was concerned and he kind of pushed it on me, he said he had the same thing and it works great. Unfortunately for us, it doesn’t do the job, we keep losing internet signal. We notified Comcast and they said it’s our modem. Then covid happened and now that we can actually go to the store, I can’t even return the item.

It was easy to set up however going by the instructions in the paperwork did not do the trick for some reason the laptops we own would not recognize the wifi , I eventually got it up & running but now it won't connect with my printer, UGH still drops connection every so often but nothing like it used to.

The issue with this cable modem as I was told by the Cox technician is that since this is a retail modem they don't give full access to cox. Meaning that any upgrades it needs will never get it from cox since ARRIS doesn't grant Cox full access to the modem. It also didn't report in ever 2 to 4 hours like non-retail versions of the same modem. So don't be surprised if you have issues with this going offline on a weekly basis.

This device is not as fast as I hoped. Streaming speed is sometimes smooth however at times it cannot handle a mere 5 devices.

I purchased this cable modem knowing that Best Buy carried xfinity approved hardware, I get home set everything up it's all good, I go in to my account and want to restart it after I have provisioned it and it says this modem is outdated. Best Buy needs to keep in stock what is currently approved by xfinity not what was approved by xfinity.

    Not good for Gaming...

This Modem is prone to Packet loss and higher latency due to the Intel chipset used in it. I got a NetGear CM600 to replace this the problems went away. Examples 1. play Gears of War 4 on Xbox One it would say my ping was about 32ms, put in the NetGear CM600 went down to 22ms. 2. when visting web pages it would not load fast or stall.
