Not what I was expecting
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought it included router and wifi. Description was difficult to understand. A little pricey for just a modem.

Works as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used this manufacturer for years, this one replaces a modem supplied by Cox, which was also an Arris product.

Xfinity tells me this is not compatible with 1 Gb
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded to gigabit speed with Xfinity today. I bought this modem because it said it can handle up to 1.4 gig, and it is compatible with xfinity. Xfinity support tells me this is not the case, they had to load a generic profile on it which caps me at 700 down and only 5 up instead of the 40-45 I should be having. I'll have to return this.

DO NOT BUY - KNOWN TO BE FAULTY
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The chip in this product has an open lawsuit against it. It contains an Intel Puma 7 chip that is known to be faulty. These products need to be recalled. Best Buy should no longer offer this product. The defect causes it to constantly drop internet. If you Google 'Intel Puma 7' you can see the open case.

Never buy this

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem gave me nothing bu trouble with Xfinity, I blame both companies but this modem would never connect to a router after going through three different ones of this version.

Had it for 39 days and it stopped working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started having trouble with bad/slow WiFi about a week or two ago. Finally narrowed it down to this Modem when it died yesterday. Created a lot of frustration, time and more money to correct. I have now discovered that this model is known to have issues. Wish my sales person knew this before he recommended it to me!

Ok Product if it would have lasted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought about a year ago trying to save some money on the monthly cable bill. It worked great then it started to give me slow speeds in the 20-50 Mbps when I pay for 250+. After having the cable company tech come out he said it was the modem not delivering the speeds. After trying to return it with the headache itself finally got only a Merch credit. If it lasted it would have been good.

Maybe just a bad modem
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return this due to it not working properly. Had no issues exchanging this for another one. The new one seems to be working fine but not getting the speed that it promised. Will troubleshoot it more and possibly return the new one for a different brand. Had great experiences with Arris so far. Disappointed so far.

Reboot, reboot, reboot...daily
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this SB6190 to replace the Arris modem that my cable company was robbing me on rental fees. This modem drops internet and reboots an average of 2-3 times per day. Of course always during a meeting or streaming a video. Returned and went to another brand.

Total Power Loss After 20 Days
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked fine on ample power strip through 20 days and then all lights off, total Power failure. Tried equivalent old adapter that worked fine with previous Arris Surfboard and still no power. Tried the once working adapter on old modem and didn't work now! This modem killed the adapter! RMA to Arris as past Best Buy 15 day policy. Had to pay $10 shipping back and am out the modem for 3 weeks! Unbelievable for a $150 modem!

Did not work with Optimum Online NJ
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Optimum approved modem list is very inconsistent on the web and the company could do a much better job publishing this information. Tried this modem and it was unable to connect. After further research I also discovered that this device suffers from Puma 6 performance issues. Returned to store and picked up Netgear CM 700 which works flawlessly.

unreliable
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There have been many reviews on the arris surfboard modems and sadly, I found them to be accurate. The modem dropped connections, reduced connection speed and generally did not work. I replace it with a Netgear modem which worked perfectly. I will not purchase and Arris product until they resolve their hardware issues.

Moody Modem
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As moody as a teenager, this modem ic clearly not yet ready to perform in the real world! I regret not putting out the money for a better modem (as I was advised)! I’ve had to frequently restart the router (at least once per month) to solve whatever glitch it might be experiencing atm!
