Let the info on the following site be your source of info. Really awful performance issues. Works great for awhile and then seems to begin a decline resulting in very poor performance. https://www.classactionlawyers.com/cablemodems I do not recommend this modem.

Been having problems with internet for ages. Went to Best Buy and asked for recommendation. I was told this is a very good modem. Still had problems. A repairman finally figured out the problem but told me this modem is already outdated and I've had it 17 days, 3 days too long to take back. That figures.

This modem did not work for me. ISP said that the signal on their end shows that everything is fine. I called Arris and their technician told me that this modem is prone to issues. I researched this model and sure enough, there are many negative reviews so I returned it

When it's working, it's great, but too many latency and disconnecting issues. Returning this for a different manufacturer's modem. I work from home and I need reliability, and this modem doesn't have that.

Totally died in less than 2 months. Upon further investigation, the SB6190 is involved in a class action lawsuit because Arris keeps shipping these with a faulty chip that causes problems- google it before considering buying this!!

Tried three of the same model but none would connect with the Comcast network in Nashville TN. The similarly equipped Netgear modem, also sold by Best Buy, worked with Comcast I on the first try.

Stopped working properly after 3 years. Tech Support basically wanted $40 just to see if was really not working properly. And if it wasn't, what would they do? Nada, Nothing, Not a frickin' thing. So I am buying a new one, but not an Arris!

Modem worked well for the first 50 days and then today the ethernet port just stopped working - verified through Comcast that the modem was receiving a signal but no signal coming out from the ethernet port.

These devices are solid for 3 years (if you're lucky), which is just enough time to make it worth your while to purchase and NOT lease from your internet provider. HOWEVER, watch for services requiring a telephony modem, which this is NOT!

Was not able to use it because it was the wrong modem. Was not able to take it back even though it was not open because it was after 14 days. So I just wasted money on something I could not use.
