Quick install to replace an old Motorola modem and incredible increase in performance. Purchase was seamless, courteous, professional and fast. Most productive modem we have had in many years of internet work and immense reliability for working from home in the midst of the CoVid-19 pandemic.

Owned for over a month and has worked fine at the expected speeds for my internet plan through RCN Astound (200/10 Mbps). Setup was a breeze as I only had to call RCN and provide the serial number. Hopefully the modem lasts many years as my previous, older Arris models.

Instant speed boost, compatible with WOW

I want to start by saying that WOW cable's website did NOT say it was compatible. But for everything I could find it was the same as the model CM8200 on their list just white instead of black. So I called and after about 10 minutes on the phone with the guy he was able to confirm that it was indeed compatible. Now my old modem, the SB 6141 was having a lot of issues with packet loss and slow speeds. The guy who came to trouble shoot claimed with gigabit internet I would not see over 700mbps due to hardware limitations no matter what I bought. I couldnt believe it. So I started looking and found this one. Easy to set up, activated over the phone and instantly started getting speeds over 850mbps OVER WIFI! Yea so it solved my problem and doesnt have that pesky issue with packet loss. Been dependable so far too, havent had to restart it. No latency problems. No real complaints.

Wanted a DOCSIS 3.1, 32x8, modem. Got it. And, it works great. My Bad! Wanted a dual-band modem and I did not realize this level of modem, DOCIS 3.1 (so I believe) does not do dual-band. Called Cox and setup was easy and fast. It has virtually eliminated the drops and resets in my connections. Rated it 4-Star solely because it does not allow dual-band. IMHO - It is a Very good modem, and replaces a Surfboard that is 7 years old. Easy setup. Dealing with your cable Rep will, probably be your greatest lag time (good luck telling them what you have and need).

Really good modem for Cox Internet plans, fast, runs a little hot so make sure to have a fan on it if it lives in a cabinet. Typically get 800 MBPS on the Cox 1gig plan.

I had to replace my old and outdated all-in-one wifi modem router. This new modem has greatly enhanced my speed and connectivity with less dropped connections.

I had Xfinitys 300 MEG plan before and this Modem killed it. Always got 300-350 Meg. Never a drop out. Worked like a charm. NOW.... I updated to Xfinity GiG Plan 1.2Gbps (1200Meg). I was told by some the SB6190 would work, others said no. The specs on the 6190 lead you to believe it will work. Well.... it will work BUT you will NOT get all the speed you are paying for. I got 350 to 750 Meg. The 750 was only early in the morning. Daytime was 350-650Meg. An Xfinity rep ( a smart one) said "you MUST upgrade and the SB8200 is acceptable and approved for your Xfinity Gig plan" The results>>>>> I got the SB8200 and speeds are now 850-1050 Meg... day and night. I am too far from an pole amplifier to get the 1200 but thats OK. If you have Xfiniity Gig , to hell with the specs on the SB6190 box. Get this SB8200... it works! Do we have a Gig? Yes we have a Gig!

Installation was easy and a brief session with the Xfinity app allowed it to connect and be immediately useful. Purchased the modem to provide increased speed/reliability vs the Comcast-supplied equipment. Noticed no difference. This unit also does not support a phone, so it was exchanged.

Very much plug-n-play. Did online chat with cable vendor to add the MAC address and it was up and running. Internet access speed is more than double the speed I have at my company. Love the fact this is forward looking for Gigabit speeds with DOCSIS 3.1 should be good for several years of operation. Also love not paying the cable provider monthly rent for a much slower product and will recoupe cost within one year.

After decades of being a captive of the large cable companies, I finally decided to leave that nest and live in the new universe of live streaming! Had to keep my internet from the big provider BUT I didn't have to keep renting their modem. This unit was recommended by the company as being compatible and it is. Not only that, it's much better than the one I was renting!

Great modem! I never have to power cycle it and I get the speeds I pay for. Latest specs so wont have to upgrade for a long time. Its DOCSIS 3.1 with 32 download channels with 8 upload. Even has a download and upload light to show if you are getting DOCSIS 3.1 from your ISP.

Excellent workhorse modem for up to 1 Gig. Used with both Xfinity and Cox 1G plans. Not sure why, but it never picked up the overprovisioned speeds in excess of the plan (i.e., 1.25G) while others do (Arris S33, NETGEAR CM2000). It’s rated for above 1G so I assume the ISPs throttle it. But excellent otherwise. Years of use with no problems (see, e.g., S33’s overheating).

This modem is great, set up is relatively easy - I still had to call Comcast for final steps - it is approved for Comcast Business. The only issue I have is that it is not VOIP compatible. I have a VOIP phone system and could not use it. Unfortunately, there isn't a single modem I could find out there that is both approved for Comcast Business and VOIP, so I had to make a decision and the faster service provided by the modem wins, and I no longer have a separate phone at my desk.
