Works fine. Supposedly, it is one of the few models out there that use a different chipset than other modem models that use a chipset with a 'known' hardware bug. Also, the LEDs on the front are too bright and a bit obnoxious, and I would have preferred the unit to be black or gray instead of white.

Got this to quit paying Comcast for there's. Seems to work very well.

ARRIS SURFboard 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem The Arris MODEM worked great for six months, then throughput degraded significantly. Contacted Xfinity (Comcast), they eventually sent a technician who was unable to get this unit working at better than half capacity. They plugged in a rental unit, and I got 860Mbps (on a GB line), compared to the 260Mbps best DL speed from the Arris unit. No apparent reason for the performance degradation. Hoping to return it for a new unit, and see if it goes back to expected throughput. It is a lot of money for disappointing performance after 6 months of usage! If it still operated as advertised, I would recommend it, but until I see a new one work for longer than six months... you may be better off with a different manufacturer.

After a month or so with the modem, things have been great. Speeds have been great. I've had to restart the modem several times within the last few days, which has been annoying, but not sure where the blame goes on that. Overall a good modem though.

While I was upgrading from DSL to WiFi, I got a new modem. Seems to be working just fine.

I used to rent a modem from my provider. This is compact, easy to set up, and most important, future proof. I will never go back to renting.

Purchased for Comcast compatibility. No issues as far as I can tell.

I still gave this item a 3/5 stars because I know that their build quality and reliability are fantastic. Make sure that if you live in and around West Covina and have Spectrum as your provider, this modem is not currently supported and cannot be connected to their network as of 05/14/2020

Purchased this modem in June of 2018 and it went bad in January of 2019. After numerous times when the modem wouldn't function it finally quit all together. I have a business which like most relies on reliable internet connection. After losing several hours of up time and confirming with my internet provider that the problem was my modem I replaced the modem. Best Buy was nice but couldn't do anything on the defective modem because it was under manufacturer warranty. I called Arris and their response was not only not helpful but almost impossible to comply with. I won't ever purchase an Arris product again and I would suggest anyone considering an Arris purchase to think carefully,.

A big thumbs up on Arris products, from my point of view. Would definitely invest in other products from Arris.
