I purchased this modem because I upgraded my Astound Broadband internet to a 1 gig plan. Astound told me I had to upgrade my modem to a 3.1 DOCSIS. This modem states it downloads up to 2 gpps. When I did the speedtest I would only get 6-700 speed. I called Astound, they said to call Arris and make sure the error was not the device. Arris support said the SB8200 only supports speeds up to 750. They said the only modem they have that supports the 1 gig speed is their Arris S33. I am frustrated for the false information. Even the Best Buy helper said this is the modem that i should buy.

Did not produce the speeds it should have. I believe I received a faulty product. Download and upload speeds were hard capped at below advertised levels. Had ISP here to trouble shoot, swapped out this modem for ISP modem and instantly got almost double the speeds

The modem did not take care of the WIFI. Need to by something else.

Package says two ethernet ports are available. Don't believe it. You can use only one ethernet port at a time unless you get a second IP address from your ISP. Spectrum only makes a second IP address available for business accounts, much more expensive. I purchased this modem because of the two ethernet ports. I use the modem and wifi router in a remote location and wanted to use the second ethernet port for a monitor that would reset the system if it dropped internet connectivity, to help me avoid having to make an on-site visit. The second port is unavailable unless you obtain a second IP address from your ISP. Does not meet my needs at all.

Great modem for Comcast/Xfinity. Plenty of power for current mbps and future gigabit in my area.

My internet had been acting up for many of months and was finally able to setup an appointment for xfinity to come out to fix it. After testing, they told me i needed to change my modem to 3.1 cause its not compatible for anything older than 3.0. So came to Best Buy to find something cheap. This one is not cheap. Bad enough it had minimum requirements to work, no router, no wifi, just 2 ethernet ports, but it was expensive. Modems should be this expensive but went ahead and bit the bullet and bought it. After DL the app and installing the modem, same problem. I couldn't youtube without it freezing on me and returned it. So now im wondering where the problem is? is it the new modem? the Internet?

Overpriced even on sale. Definitely does the job so far.

It does the job but it’s not like “Holy cow” what a huge difference.

This unit was expensive but has helped with my wifi capability!

I have had constant disconnects with this unit. I finally had enough and contacted Arris support. They were not helpful at all. I went back to the modem I replaced and have no issues now. I don't recommend this unit or the company that makes it.

Didnt work for my needs but ARRIS is a great product

I upgraded my internet service to Gigablast with Cox which required a higher performance modem. Using with a Linksys mesh multi-node system. I haven’t seen any difference in sipped but we are able to connect more devices simultaneously.

Has good solid range although it is priced a bit too high.

I am disappointed with this because it does not contain a router, but instead it is only a cable modem. I felt the Best Buy sales rep in the store misled me when he recommended I buy this device instead of the slightly more expensive one that contained the router. He told me that the only reason to buy the more expensive one, was because it had telephone jacks to connect a telephone for VOIP, but since I was not planning to use VOIP, it provided no other benefit. A few days later, after paying for a service call from another company to find out why my wireless connections throughout the house wouldn’t work with the new modem, he realized the problem was because there was no router in the device. I had to purchase a separate wireless router to connect to this modem. After this, everything worked perfectly.

Bought this so I could stop paying Comcast $10 a month to rent one. Works great.

It works based on the speed advertised I still didn't test in GIG

Worked perfectly with Spectrum, easy to install as well.

I bought this as an upgrade to a previous Arris modem that ran very well but was damaged. This one cuts in and out at odd times, then comes back up again and works okay for a while. These occurrences are random. My cable service is rock solid reliable; that's not the problem.
