Arris doesn't stand by their warranty

the modem stopped working and I lost internet. Calling Arris was a nightmare. All they did was give me the run around. They do not stand by their product. I hooked a borrowed modem to my cable line and got internet again. They didn't care -- they insisted it was the internet provider not Arris.

Frequent connection losses and slow speeds

Do not buy! Constant connection losses or very slow speeds. If you google it, there are many people with the same issues. I spent two months troubleshooting on my own and with Comcast. Even the higher level Comcast support reps were confused. I could typically get it to work for a few days then the issues would return. Eventually cut my losses and bought a Netgear Nighthawk and have had no issues whatsoever. Do not buy this modem!

    Worst Modem EVER for Comcast

While this is listed as an approved modem for Comcast, I would say to stay away and get something else. We've had nothing but problems since we've gotten this. We're paying for Blast Pro with up to 200Mbps Upload and there are times we've gotten less than 30. Comcast came out changed all the wiring, sent refresh signals, did everything they could and it turned out it wasn't Comcast but this modem. I wouldn't even tell my enemy to buy this (then again I would). Save yourself the headache and go with the Netgear CM1000.

This modem is junk. It will switch constantly and you get a lot of drops on your internet. Definitely overpriced and not reliable at all. I spoke to customer service about the drops in my service and they went over connections with me. Never found anything wrong with my connection and I ended up going back to my original modem. That ended up solving my problem but the time elapsed on my return of this piece of junk and now I have a paper weight.

Not a great choice if you have Xfinity/Comcast

I recently upgraded to Xfinity’s Gigabit service which required me to upgrade to a 3.1 DOCISIS modem. So I bought the Arris. Big mistake! My download speeds actually decreased. Xfinity tech support couldn’t help me either (or wouldn’t). I ended up taking this unit back and buying a Motorola SB8600 3.1 modem which is now giving me the 900+Mbps speeds that I’m paying for. YMMV of course depending on your provider.

Bought it based on recommendation of employee...so great. It has stopped working at least 3 times in the 6 months we've had it. Once was when we were out of town for 2 months and we were unable to manage our thermostat, cameras and RING doorbell. What good is that?. 3 breakdowns that we know of in 6 months smells lilke a lemon to me.

I bought this to replace the cable modem I had from Spectrum that kept dropping connection and needed to be re-booted about 3 times a week. This modem, once installed gave me downstream speeds of 1.5 Mbps. Even when I removed all other network components from the equation, this thing just didn't perform, and it was returned.

Don't listen to what it says on the box, this modem is 100% not compatible with Charter Specturm internet. I bought this because its states right on the front of the box in bold letters that it works with Charter service. After an hour on the phone with customer service trying to get it activated, I gave them the model number and they said that its 100% NOT supported.
