Overheated and stopped working. Thought it was my ISP until I figured out it was this. Went with another brand...broke my heart to do it though cause I’m an Arris fan.

Returned after about 2 days of continued dropping and would only reconnect when having signal refreshed from provider. Purchased Netgear combo and all is wonderful.

    Get it for DOCSIS 3.1

My old 3.0 Surfboard modem was no longer supported and only had 4 upstream channels, so I decided to upgrade to a modem that supported Docsis 3.1. The Best Buy associate tried to talk me out of getting the more expensive 3.1 modem, and instead get a better 3.0 unit. I had read about the the signifigant advantages of the 3.1 standard and bought went ahead and got this unit. The associate was knowledgeable about comcast's plans and told me that at my tier I would only get a connection to the 3.0 network and by the time the faster speeds made a 3.0 unit obsolete the prices on the 3.1 units will have dropped down. Basically, I was four to five years away from needing a 3.1 compatible modem with my Blast 150 plan. That seems to be old information. I generally don't follow instructions well, and I did what I wanted to do and got the 3.1 unit; I wanted to see for myself what I would get for a connection. Sure enough, I hooked it up and got a downstream 3.1 connection (upstream is less important and stayed at 3.0). While the speeds I am getting are very close what I had before, the improved buffering on the 3.1 reduces latency by half. As speeds have gone up latencies have become a much larger factor in how fast a page loads. Most pages require 10 to 25 round trips to load. Add in advertisement queries and latency delays become much worse. Short story, get DOCSIS 3.1 for the reduced latencies and improved buffering as speeds have gone up it's a much bigger factor on how fast pages load, it's as important if not more important than having a faster plan. I'm very pleased at how much faster pages load. Awesome Upgrade!
