Great modem for boosting internet speeds, but only one Ethernet port is actually functional unless your ISP will provide you with another IP address to your service, it’s intended for port aggregation in the future, so you can only connect it to ONE device, pair it with a NightHawk x6 or x10 and your golden. Other than that it works great with Xfinity, we pay for 250mbps and averaged 150 with xfinity equipment, installed this modem and set it up and pulled 285/300mbps instantly.

So much better than the Cox Panoramic modem! Reliable and still going strong after 3 years!

The modem is easy to hook up and works fine the only issue is with the iPhone app used to access the modem, it is a total piece of junk it does not work you cannot connect to the modem at all it says you do not have internet even though you do. Apple should not allow such worthless apps on the store but apparently they do.

I had signed up for Comcast's Gigabit service and was using their leased gateway (TG3482G) but I wasn't happy with it - constant lagging, jitter, and overall slow performance on streaming and games. Bridging my own router to it helped somewhat, but it was still problematic. Finally had enough, so I bought the SB8200 to replace the leased gateway, activated with a phone call, and so far it's outperformed the TG3482G - speed tests show faster ping, and there's been no jitter on the connection - smooth as silk. Unfortunately it doesn't have voice capability (there are currently no retail DOCSIS 3.1 modems with voice) so I had to activate an older TM722G for the eMTA function, but Comcast accommodated me, so now I have the best of both worlds.

Setup is easy right out the box, just plug in and go. If you are an Xfinity customer you will need to call them and give them the midel number and MAC address so that they can allow this device to communicate with their infrastructure. If you don't call, the midem will NOT work.

I want to state that I bought this modem to replace my TM3402. I wasn't getting the speed I desired(300Mbps package), and some streaming content kept buffering. I know it's not my router because I use a mesh network at home. The router is located in the basement, while the two mesh points are placed on the first and second floors. The setup was simple; I just called the optimum customer support to provision the modem, and after a couple of restarts, it started to work. I will update this review if something goes wrong, but so far so good

Initially I was having trouble with intermittent internet, loosing signal. I did a little reading, and downloaded the Minim App. I found there was an update for the unit. Ran the update and it has been 100% perfect for the last 3 weeks. Veery happy with signal strength and speed.

The modem has worked flawlessly. The previous Comcast supplied modem had issues every week where we needed to reset it. We are very pleased so far with this unit.

Great modern modem that is absolutely plug and play !

I had the newest Xfinity modem and found it inadequate. This solved our WiFi problems and was easy to integrate

It’s a cable modem. Service provider took two days of constantly adjusting to get a decent connection to it as Surfboard provides only one type of MAC address. The app suggested by Surfboard to assist in setup is useless, was never able to connect to its servers to finish setup.

Works as advertised. Easy to set up. Took the ISP longer to ping the modem than it was for me to set up and connect.

Upgrade needed to comply with internet provider. Simple install. Worked great.

Modem upgrade was exactly what was needed to improve connection status at home. The Arris 3.1 modem ensured that connection was secured.

This is a great computer..very fast! I use it for business and film production.
