Love this modem! Replaced SB6190. Use it with Gigabit internet, download speeds 900+ Mbps, upload around 42Mbps. I am using it with ASUS GT-AC5300 router.

I bought my SB8200 3-4 months ago and never had a problem until now. The modem gets very hot within 30 minutes of plugging it in. The modem keeps resetting itself. I called Comcast several times and then sent a technician out twice. They changed up some cables and splinters and it was working fine for about 3 days. Since the issue was resolve, Comcast advise me to call the manufacture. I had to go through a warranty exchange and they made me pay for the shipping me. I also had to put an extra deposit just in case they didn't get the defective modem. This was when the modem finally gave up and stop connecting to the internet. After using the warranty modem for about 2-3 weeks. It resets it self if I do heavy gaming and torrent at the same time. I believe the problem is that the modem is overheating due a very high work load. While I was waiting for the warranty modem to come in, I went back to purchase the Net Gear CM1000 while I was waiting for the new one to come in. During that time the CM1000 did not feel as hot as the SB8200 and my internet never cut in or out. I really want to just toss my SB8200 in the bin and and go buy the CM1000 but I am reluctant to do so because of the price I had to pay for it.
