Useless. Worked for a few days then we constantly had to reboot it to try to keep it working. We finally replaced it with our 9-year old modem we had almost thrown away and it worked better than this modem.

no idea about the item. I bought it as it was supposed to be used by Spectrum Internet. By the time Spectrum turned on my internet, they said my area no longer can use outside modems. Best Buys wouldnt take it back as the return widow lapsed. Im not really mad at best buy for the return policy....I hate getting an email 4 times a week to review a product. So, here is your review. I hope this goes on someone's Power BI Dashboard.

Don't buy this device. After setting it up, I had 3 techs from Xfinity come out since it was only getting 170Mbps download speeds when connected by Ethernet. Changed over to the Netgear CM1000 and now I'm getting speeds at over 900Mbps when connected by Ethernet.

    The warranty is useless

So this modem went from 800 mbps to 25 mpbs around a month after getting it (I have optimum for reference) because it wasn't getting enough power (I guess?). The warranty on this is basically useless, the only caved to sending me an additional one after by some grace of god I got an optimum technician to call them and they still tried to say they were wrong! Now they won't send me a new one until they receive theirs which leaves me completely out of wifi for 10 days in a time when it is my only means to work. So I had to figure out an alternative living situation. I would really just prefer to return it and try something else.

    Poor Arris Warranty Support

Arris SB8200 stopped working on Cox Communications system. Contacted Arris customer/ warranty support. When they learned that a storm in New Orleans had occurred prior to the failure, they blamed the storm for the unit failure and told me I had no warranty. We have storms on a daily basis during the summer in New Orleans. The unit has survived hundreds of storms in the eight months I have had the unit. Will never buy another Arris product!

Does not receive 3.1 thru Comcast Xfinity Chicago

Do not use with Comcast Xfinity Chicago. It does not work with DOCSIS 3.1. All lights always stay solid green. I had 4 comcast xfinity tier 2 support technicians, and 3 Arris agents troubleshoot the 4 brand new SB8200 Arris modems and both companies discovered that in Chicago it is not able to reach Gigabit internet speeds and obtain DOCSIS 3.1. I am now leasing the new comcast XB6 xfinity modem for a couple of days. I am exchanging the Arris SB8200 for the Netgear CM1000 DOCSIS 3.1 to see if it works with comcast xfinity chicago DOCSIS 3.1.

The product worked somewhat well for three months and then just stopped working. I was on the phone with Cox for hours troubleshooting, and they weren’t able to see it show up at all while it just continued to reset itself. I had to buy a new modem.

    Garbage modem

I bought this modem to pair with my upgraded gigabit internet from xfinity. It was on the preferred list. I got the right amount of upstream as advertised, but was sub-100 for downstream. I tested modem-only, power-cycled, spoke with Xfinity who told me to power cycle. I bought a Netgear CM1000, on a hunch and I have had no issues. The CM1000 worked right out the box. I plan on returning the surfboard ASAP.

After a few months, started to experience random reboots. In the last month it would reboot every few hours. Comcast provided us with a loaner modem until we can get a replacement under warranty. Arris is almost impossible to deal with and finds an excuse for not exchanging the modem. Stay Away!

Only God can help you if it's broken, not Arris su

This modem has refused to connect to 3 separate routers, one of which was working earlier in the day. According to Arris support, it's a router issue...with 3 separate, 2 of which brand new, routers. Arris support then decided to hang up on me, so if there's something wrong, you'll never get a warranty claim out of them.

Arris told me needed 8 upstream channes. Cox only provides 4 upstream channesl for their gigablast ineternet. Maximum download speed wired 330mbs. Cox could not get modem to work. Try Motorola modem. Return Arris cable modem. Do not buy for Cox gigablast internet.

I think I have a defective product. After 2.5 hours with Arris tech support and 1 hour with Comcast together. It did not work.

Did not play well with Wireless Router/Mesh setup

I could not get this modem to work with 2 different sets of wireless mesh systems(thought it was the router). Not sure why. Ended up using my old 10 year old modem and my wireless mesh system worked.

DON'T BUY AN ARRIS. I bought about the most expensive router you can buy and it was great for the first year and half. Now it's starting to die (under the 2 year warranty). Contacted support and they have had me try to change settings multiple times to no avail. No replacement under warranty. My advice...BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND.

This is the second unit in 6 months. You call Arris and its always out of warranty. Looking for a different brand. I had a couple T-25 not work with Comcast as well at my office. Don't purchase, Arris products, their support responded that's the way it is.

They used storms in my area as an excuse to void my warranty. Thanks for the paperweight Arris. Didn't even last a month. Purchased 7/14/19. Died 8/13/19.
