If you don't know what you're doing and looking for the best modem to get, purchase this one. It's the best Arris Surfboard modem out. Spend the extra money, it's worth it. This one also supports DOCSIS 3.1, so it's future ready. Word to those who don't know. DO NOT use modem/router combos (even the Arris SB ones)! Buy a modem only, and a separate router! I bought this modem to replace my previous Motorola/Arris SB modem (looks almost just like this one). Besides, it was to upgrade anyways.

I bought this as a "future proof" alternative to renting a modem through the cable company. Very easy to set up and compatible with most cable providers. (I, for example, use Comcast.)

So easy to set up and has been running like a champ! We have had zero lags or disruptions, typical of the rented modems from the local ISP.

Great modem. Had to call my cable company to activate it. Even though the modem is not officially supported by my internet provider, they griped and then activated it for me. The modem is fast, plug and play, and future proof. It already has a new hardware / algorithm set up, so when the cable companies introduce a faster algorithm, the modem is ready to accept it. Overall, paying more now will mean you will have a great product today, which will still be good five years from now. This will save you money in the long run, stave off issues, and give you the good quality, fast internet that you pay for.

Does what it is intended to do, easy setup, just follow a few simple steps and thats it, you're connected, at stable speeds. The only thing Im trying to look into is sudden drops for a few seconds, not sure if its the modem's fault. But overall I trust this brand, I've had experience with them.

This is an upgrade version of a modem i had been using for 4 1/2 years. COX told me repeatedly that my old modem was the cause of my internet connection failing on a repeated basis .... well I broke down and purchased this new version. It works great - better than the older version. Sadly, for me however, I spent th money to buy the new version only to find out that it was inept COX technicians that were causing the repeated internet connection failures.

Read some bad reviews on this but decided to take a chance on it. So far it’s working good. It’s really fast and I hope it lasts a while.

I have found ARRIS modems to be good, reliable equipment. So far my new modem is doing great!

Threw away my xfinity router for this. Speeds are consistently 400+ mbps ever since I got this

I purchased it to upgrade the SB6190, a reliable product until Xfinity increased the cable speed to 900 MB/s. It was too much for SB6190 and it dropped the connection and made self-reset quite frequently. After installing the SB8200 the connection got stable, with no connecion drop and no self-reset anymore. The installation was easy.

For me this was easy to setup. I replaced the xfinity router that was constantly dropping. Has two gigabit ports to connect a hardwire directly to your mesh WiFi network device (sold separately). I have a large home and I am pretty technical. This cable modem router does what it is intended to do. but it does not have WiFi built in—it’s just the device. I’d say you kind of need to know what you are doing to need something like this. To tap into the device you need a computer with a port or there is an app. It was fun to see the surfboard brand again. Solved my internet issues.

I have been using this modem for over a month so far without any operational issues. The set up was very easy to do and took very little time. The modem has been running great and would recommend this to a friend.

I had trouble with a cable modem from another vendor so I bought this one from Best Buy. It set up easily and is working great.I recommend it for anyone getting Xfinity service.

Great speeds for a reasonable price. Easy to setup and use. Initial login was not "password" but the last 8 digits of the serial number.
