I previously had a Motorola brand modem and had trouble with it resetting itself almost every hour at random. I bought this modem because it was recommended to work well with Optimum internet as the provider from a review I read online. Since I bought this modem I have not had any issues. I have it paired with a Google mesh system and have been very happy.

Had a weird thing where installing this messed with the DHCP working of my home router. Had to factory reset the router and re-set-up wifi and password etc... But it gets the right speeds and works well.

First off I'm just going to be up front the reason I knocked the Star off of this review is because I'm not 100% sure that the modem was not open prior or if it wasn't then there was definitely some issues with packaging. I wasn't aware until after I had activated it and got it running that it was supposed to come included with a networking cable and the instruction manual. Both of those were missing from my package although it was sealed. As a modem works flawlessly it connected in about 15 minutes to the Optimum network and has been running a steady since.

This is a great modem that is super fast and easy to hook up. My download and upload speeds greatly went up. I highly recommend this modem.

This replaced an older ARRIS cable modem. Easy setup and happy to have the 3.1 upgrade.

Works as a Docsis modem and is small in size. I have to have my modem in my bedroom which is not a big deal but this unit would light up the room blue at night. The LED's on the front are not very bright, but the blue will radiate from the vent hole on both sides making this thing a giant night light lol. The other thing I did not like about this is that it runs hot. Maybe other ARRIS Docsis modems are better, but I ended up going with a NETGEAR modem that do not suffer the shortfalls of this product.

This is a good surfboard for the internet speed of 600 mbp that I paid for through Comcast. I have no problem using it so far.

This modem will pay for itself in less than a year. The switch from comcast equipment to the Arris modem was painless and simple. This is the same brand that used to be supplied by Comcast and ATT before them. Never had an issue with them. Signal and speed are excellent. I was able to increase internet from 175 MBPS to 800 MBPS and still asve $25 a month.

When I first purchased this modem, I had some issues with daily disconnects, which my provider (Astound Broadband) insisted was the modem. Since the modem was brand new and I had known this company's service to be less reliable from a prior experience, I didn't believe them. I dumped that provider 3 weeks into my new plan, and went back to Xfinity for a killer deal on gigabit internet. This modem has been running reliably for six months straight now, issue free. The only time this modem disconnects is when I power it down. Two thumbs up!

This modulator/de-modulator works very well to receive and then transfer all kinds of information from some obscure computer in the sky to your own interweb connected devices in your home. You can now obtain all kinds of false and misleading, not to mention entertaining information at blazingly fast speeds. It's almost like instant gratification for a person's Facebook addiction or Netflix binge. Best of all, if you decide you have had too much information overload and quit your cable provider, you get to keep the device as a memento.

Looking for a budget modem upgrade? Look no further. We had an outdated modem and our internet speed suffered. As an aspiring Twitch streamer, i needed to maximize my internet speed. This was on sale, purchased it, and am now getting the speeds that i pay for.
