Where I live, internet by our local cable provider is my best option. I had owned my router for several years and while updating my wifi to a mesh wifi set-up I decided to go for the whole thing and upgrade my router, It was easy to setup, the only hiccup was on my end and I had to contact my cable company so they could add/register the new router. I've not had any issues with it.

Have had this installed for ~1 month & it works excellently. No hiccups, etc. Haven’t had to reboot it at all (even after a couple of short power outages in the apartment complex). I replaced a modem/router combo I was renting from cable company, and very happy that I did!

Purchased this Modem because of the speed capability of handling upwards of 2 gb performs as expected and then some previous model SB6190 kept dropping internet,constantly had to reboot. would recomend this unit SB8200

A good upgrade. My download speed went from 100Mbps to over 200Mbps. I was paying my internet provider for more than 100Mbps but I was not getting what I paid for cause my old modem did not support the 200Mbps I now get.

A modem will only get you so far for speeds, you also need an ISP (Internet Service Provider) that has the capability to offer you the speeds needed to take advantage with this gear. This modem will allow you to do this. I utilize this with Xfinity's service and it works perfectly giving me the speeds that I pay for.

I purchased this modem to not only future proof myself for years to come but I didn't want to pay the monthly rental fees Comcast/Xfinity was asking to use their modem. Fantastic modem that is perfect for those whole need speeds above 500mbps download. Very little hiccups with the modem, I have to restart my router more often than the modem. Get this modem if you need faster speeds.
