YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY A SUBSCRIPTION FOR A DECENT CAMERA SYNC. You get what you pay for, but I bet there’s cheaper better cameras on Amazon. First off this camera works ok when you’re part of the initial blink premium membership subscription which you get a free trial of upon setting up your camera and account. After that free trial ended suddenly the camera froze all the time when showing live play (which is all you get when you’re on the free plan) took ages for me to sync when clicking the notification of movement to get a view. You get recorded playback on the premium plan. Loosing that really sucks but you should be able to at least have a decent live stream footage. Also the camera makes a very loud jarring clicking sound when activating on. I use this to watch my hamster in his habitat. Thankfully this isn’t a security camera because it’s incredibly unreliable. I would use two different devices, install and sync the Alfred camera app on both for a security camera as free it’s way better than this. Unfortunately though I’ll have to use a small camera this size to put in my hamsters habitat

The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that you have to pay a $3 membership after like 30-60 days to keep live videos. Other than that, works good and would buy again.

You need to have a membership to be able to extend the live stream. Doesn’t sync the view so you need hit manually refresh or go live to see what is going. I think this should be free atleast. But Amazon wants to charge a membership for it. Another annoying thing is the click every time you go live. I had to buy more camera recently 08/06/22, and While the price is cheap. I rather pay extra to get something that Is hassle free. Decide to buy the ring camera.

You'll need to buy the sync to even have a decent chance of storing recordings, but it doesn't show you on the app what its recording without a subscription plan. Should at least give you the optio to save on to your personal cloud.

Live View — You can access live video at any time through the Blink app, even without a subscription
Motion alerts — The camera will still send motion detection notifications to your phone so you know when activity is happening
Local storage with Sync Module 2 — If you pair the Blink Mini with a Sync Module 2 and insert a USB drive (up to 256 GB), you can store motion clips locally without any subscription. These clips are viewable directly in the Blink app
The Sync Module 2 with local USB storage is the closest option to the personal cloud storage you mentioned — it keeps your recordings on your own drive, accessible through the app, with no monthly fees.
