I added this wired mini camera to my existing Blink wireless kit. Setup was easy, with the added benefit of this camera running off a USB adaptor. The only rub was that the adaptor in the box was dead on arrival. Since I have a drawer full of USB adaptors, I scrounged one that came from an Echo Dot. The camera works reliably, capturing an alternate view from my Blink doorbell camera of my front door. In my setup, the doorbell camera gets the side/profile view, and the mini gets the frontal view of anyone who comes to my door. The IR view is less than stellar with most cameras. To address this, I disabled the IR function, and rely on a motion sensor light to provide sufficient lighting, and the best video quality possible. I have no complaints, and I really appreciate the low price. This isn't the best quality camera on the market. But then again, it does what it needs to do, keeping an eye on my home. The app is required, and if you want local storage, you will also need to buy the Sync 2 module. When compared to the monthly fees many of the competitors charge for video storage, I prefer this option of having all my videos stored in my own home, and not the cloud, where there is a monthly fee. This beats the old DVR setups with wires running everywhere, and the spinning hard disk making a constant racket by a huge margin. Easier setup, and a much lower cost is just the icing on the cake.

Ok… app is so primitive many settings would affect all connected cameras together, you have to click on each camera to view, you cant view 2 cameras at the same time, also by design it cannot record to sync module if live view is open. So it won’t store to device if you have the app open on view.

Hello Koka! Thank you for your feedback on the Blink Mini. I'm sorry to hear you're frustrated with the app's limitations regarding camera management and live view recording. The Blink app is designed with a camera-by-camera interface, which means you need to select individual cameras to view them rather than displaying multiple feeds simultaneously. This design prioritizes battery conservation and bandwidth management across the Blink ecosystem. Regarding the recording limitation during live view, this is an intentional feature—when you're actively viewing a camera's live feed, the device prioritizes streaming that real-time video to your phone rather than simultaneously recording to the Sync Module, as doing both would create significant bandwidth and processing demands. To maximize your recording capabilities, consider setting up motion detection zones and schedules so cameras automatically record when motion is detected while you're not actively viewing, ensuring important events are captured and stored to your Sync Module. You can also enable motion detection alerts so you're notified of activity without needing to keep live view open constantly. For viewing multiple cameras, you can quickly switch between camera feeds by tapping the camera thumbnails on the home screen, though simultaneous multi-camera viewing is not currently supported in the Blink app. I hope this information helps clarify the app's functionality and provides strategies to better capture the footage you need. I have 5 of these mini cameras in my home and i love it. Haveing 9 kids and 1 toddler with autism is hard , so when a mark comes up or a tantrum for my autistic step son happens i can show his behavioral therapist all the videos so we can get a better understanding on what triggers him and how to prevent it.

Easy to set up, pretty much set and forget. Most of the time the motion detection works, some times it doesn’t, but for $30 camera, it does just fine.

Nice Little Camera with Some Issues

Bottom line: The camera itself works fine, but I can't turn the microphone off due to an apparent Blink software glitch. So, if you're going to use this camera with an Echo Show, I recommend this camera if you intend to put it somewhere distant and quiet from where the Echo Show is located, otherwise you hear you voices and/or TV with a time delay over the Echo Show. The problem is if I go into the Blink app settings to turn off the camera's microphone to get rid of the time delayed voice/TV feedback, the Echo Show can't find the Blink camera. Email troubleshooting with Blink was pretty cursory, and they said my internet signal wasn't adequate to support the camera, which didn't make any sense to me. Frustrated, I called tech support (and, amazingly, got through immediately) and they had me reload both the Alexa app and the Blink app and reset the camera, with no change. They came up with a recommended temporary fix that also didn't work. Blink called me today and said that there is a software problem that they're working on and that I'm not the only person experiencing this problem. The rep said that they didn't have a timeline for a fix. A couple of other things I found out in this process. If you go on the Blink website to see how to update the settings, the app display shown on the website is different than what I see on my phone. It turns out the settings display on their website is for iPhones, not Android, but it doesn't tell you that (the second tech I spoke to finally told me that). Also, the camera can only communicate with one device at a time. So I you can't be looking at the camera on your phone and the Echo Show at the same time.
