Q: Will this camera work without a subscription?
A: Apparently you can use it but no recordings! I didn't realize this. If I had, I would never have bought them! Ridiculous!
A: There is a limit to the continuous live viewing on the Blink cameras. Currently, you are able to view up to 5 minutes at a time in 30 second intervals. After 5 minutes you would have to initiate a new live view session.
Q: Does this camera work on a 5G wireless network?
A: The Blink System (including the Blink Mini) does currently require a 2.4ghz WiFi-based Internet connection to operate. Blink is not compatible with wifi networks broadcasting a 5ghz signal.
A: Yes that is absolutely correct. I own one and all I had to do was download the app to work it and I don't need to be home to arm it or disarm it. Great product.
Q: Will this detect outdoor motion through a window?
A: I do not recommend using any surveillance camera through a window because it disables the night vision from working due to the glass reflecting the Infared Light back at the camera basically blinding it. My advice is purchase the Blink XT2 outdoor units for that type of surveillance.
Q: Can it be used as a webcam for streaming?
A: There is a limit to the continuous live viewing on the Blink cameras. Currently, you are able to view up to 5 minutes at a time in 30 second intervals. After 5 minutes you would have to initiate a new live view session.
Q: Do you have to have WiFi to use this camera
A: Blink does currently require a 2.4ghz WiFi-based Internet connection to operate
A: The Blink system would theoretically work in the Philippines assuming you got the correct power adapter, however we do not currently offer a local server to support the system. This means that you could suffer from poor performance, lag time issues, and quickly draining battery life as a result. This would void our warranty as well.

Blink Mini watches the sump pump
We wanted a simple security camera to keep an eye on our sump pump and the Blink Mini did the trick. It was easier than expected to set up on my cell phone and I’m technologically challenged! I can open the app on my phone at any time, see the crock, hear the water drain in, hear the pump kick on and watch the water drain. The volume is good and the feed is in black and white but that’s fine for this. Problem solved, no more running up and down stairs to check that the pump is working and peace of mind when we’re away. It comes with 30 days of free cloud storage but we don’t need that so I’ll cancel before we start being charged. This is a wired model, not wireless. We mounted it to a wood shelf so it was secure over the crock and so the 6-1/2 foot cord would reach a plug. We had to turn the camera sideways though to accommodate the cord attached at the shelf but we can still tell what we’re looking at. Inexpensive solution for us to avoid a basement flood.

Great for Pets
I bought 2 of these to use in my reptile tanks. These cameras are great to see what my reptiles are doing throughout the day. I have them connected to a power strip that has USB outlets and they have the capability of working upside down so you just flip the camera view in the app. It also works at night. If you get the subscription you have it save 30 second clips when it detects motion.

Blink mini - great for tracking your pet
Very easy to plug in and use with the downloaded app. It serves my purpose - alerting me when my pet eats! Blink with record a short video when it is motion activated. You can also see the area live and it has a feature where you can talk to the subject. You can hear them video the live feature too. You can save the videos if desired. You have the option to arm or disarm the device.
