However it serves it's purpose to supplement the existing Amazon / Ring ecosystem along with it's monthly fees. If not, it's an non-essential gadget.

Anything it sees it will start recording. Best Thing to buy to keep inside the house to keep things in watch and to see if anyone is in the house when your not home.

I use it to monitor my home when I am away. It does not have tilt or pan but I really did not need that anyway.

Posted .Hello, JamesC. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Blink Mini Indoor Camera. The Blink Mini requires a 5-volt, 1-amp, standard USB power supply (included) and an always-on Wi-Fi internet connection. It does not need a Sync Module, but is compatible with one. Adding the Mini to an existing system allows for shared scheduling. You can improve the picture quality of your Blink cameras by adjusting the video settings to "Best" in your app and ensuring it is within range of your Wi-Fi router. The camera-to-Wi-Fi signal strength plays an important part in video quality, as that data is downloaded directly from the Blink servers to the camera. Camera-to-Sync Module signal strength has no effect on video quality; however, you should have three bars of strength to keep cameras online. In addition to checking your video settings and signal strengths, camera positioning is also important, as environmental conditions such as lighting and glare can affect your video quality. I have been using home network cameras for 8 years and I wanted to give this camera a try. The night vision is OK but it would pick up bugs better than it would pick up me. So about a week before I was going to return it, it decided to go off line and not connect anymore. I have cameras that have better night vision and Sensitivity levels to pick up motion. I hope you have a better experience than I did I will not be getting another blink camera.

Helps me keep an eye on the little kids if I'm in a different room while they're playing. Which is very helpful if you have young children that sometimes like to make big messes.

I bought 2 of them, so I could check on my ailing husband, when we were not in the same room, or I had to run to the store. They are not wireless, but where I have them that is no problem.
