This device can't find anything!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this to replace an old Garmin Nuvi that my wife had for years and liked. She works on the road and likes having a navigation aid separate from her phone. We did the routine of taking it home updating software and loading maps. Rechecked this to confirm that it was up to date. This thing couldn't find addresses on main roads. Absolute frustrating piece of crap! How does a company go from being the best navigation company to this? We bought a Tom Tom to replace this. It worked out of the box. No updates required. This product does not do what it's supposed to!

Broke within 1 month
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First out of the box it was in demo mode with no instructions how to turn it off. After frustrating hours was told to drive around for a mile, yeah crazy fix whoever came up with that. Used it on two trips and it started cycling on and off on the 2nd trip and 2 minutes later would no longer turn on. Returned it, after seeing others with same issues decided not to replace it.

Works but don't expect to update it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got a new Garmin because they would not update my old nuvi 265's anymore even though they had lifetime maps. Turns out, you may not be able to update a drive 51 even though it has "lifetime" maps. Does work ok. Lot's of errors I thought would have been resolved over the years. You also can't put a pin on this unit to protect it form people stealing it. Should have tried the tom-tom's.

"Lifetime updates" hype
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like all with all electronics, Garmin will stop supporting this and all other older model units. Their updates will stop and they will no longer support the unit. They will, of course, offer you to buy a new one. Don't fall for the "Lifetime Updates", it's a ploy.

Stopped Working.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I updated the unit and drove around trying it out. At first it worked good. Then it started trying to turn me up gated driveways. It couldn't find my house. Touch buttons stopped responding and the screen went black. It never powered back on again. Took it back for a refund.
