Brought me to exactly where I wanted to be even though I changed the route.

I have used it several times. I found it took me a longer route than necessary on my local trips. I am finding it is adjusting to my driving shortcuts. I am hoping when we take a real road trip it makes these adjustments. I had two TomTom and they wore out in a very short period of time. I am hoping this one is more durable.

This GPS is pretty sad. I used to own a Garmin back when they were first released. The fact that they haven't changed much over the past decade is saying something. In fact, I wager they've gotten worse. First off, the user friendly interface that comes with Garmin is at least something you would enjoy if you purchase this product. Will this GPS get you from point A to B? Maybe. Probably. That's why it gets 2 stars. The routes and navigation system appear to be user friendly. They display which LANE you need to be in as well as what to expect. I was a fan of both the display visibility as well as the clear instructions. Why, then, would I give such a low rating? First off, this is a $100 device offering me very little for that price range. US only maps (doesn't include Canada/Mexico- I knew this and it didn't affect the reason I purchased it but some may want to know!) is a major bummer. Mainly, I tried to use this in the mountains (Rockies). It was unreliable and couldn't find the GPS often- and that's the whole reason I purchased this (because I couldn't trust I'd get cell service). I can even forgive that a little bit, but one of the worst peeves of mine is that this device doesn't like to work without being plugged in. It turns itself off after a set time if there is no "external power" source. I used to sit down and look for nearby things while we were eating or even in a hotel. Now I can barely do it without it spazzing about needing a power source- even with a full charge. Not only that, but it had a hard time finding where we were a good majority of the time. Maybe I got a bad GPS in general, but I cannot in good faith recommend this product at this price point. Even with limited to no cell service, my phone provided far better directions.

Easy to use with a large screen. Also we love the ability to search grocery stores and restaurants. The narration is less frantic when you are going off the grid for gas or a meal. Voice is calm and suggests that you need to turn arounderstand.

So far loving this GPS, I really like that it has lifetime map updates.

I bought this Garmin for our road trip around the west coast. Updating it at first was just as easy as navigating later around. Usability is also good, so I’d recommend this device to anyone in need of an affordable GPS.

My “smartphone’s” gps doesn’t work and getting this was cheaper than buying a new phone. I LOVE this Garmin! It gives very helpful directions for the directionally challenged.
