Awesome navigation for the money, easy to operate too

I needed to replace an early model Garmin GPS that finally gave out. I didn't need all the bells and whistles that a bluetooth enabled GPS offers, so this model seemed to fit the bill. I am impressed with the functionality of this GPS, its user-friendliness, and the large touch screen. I like that it asks if I am need of rest after several hours of driving and lists nearby businesses.

This was a replacement for an earlier Garmin GPS, of the same line. Screen is bright, but will almost wash out in sunlight. Sound is loud and clear. Let it charge completely before updating and installing maps. Takes a long time to synch to satellites, screen is very sensitive. Does not use the same ball and socket for mounting as my old Garmin GPS. Download the Garmin utility to update its software, maps and to register the GPS. Make sure to get a Micro USB memory card to install all the maps. I used a 16GB which I felt was large enough. On-board memory may not be adequate for your traveling. They flash a discount code during the update procedure. Note it carefully. I got $5.00 off a friction mobile mount. If you are not quick enough to get the flash screen, you can get a discount code from Garmin Customer Service, like I did. It looks flimsy, but Garmin is a major aircraft nav manufacturer and the quality and features show it.

This GPS is a quantum leap over the one I was using before. The graphics are superb, particularly as you near a complex lane configuration. You always know the speed limit and your speed without looking at your dashboard. Identifies key landmarks as well. Doesn't show traffic congestions, however.

Simple to use and has many good features. No problem to set up in the car.

The screen size is just right. My only confusion is with Hook up. With new vehicles with no lighter like my 2019 Chevy Blazer I thought this Garmin would work with usb. I had to buy a wire to connect to my usb outlet but it now works. Why do you not have usb connections to the Garmin in year 2020?

That’s what i like most about this product. It loads your route really fast. But some arent updated yet. But thats fine youll find your way still.

I bought this gps to replace our old one. Unlike the old gps, this new one giving us a good short cut routes. So far its a good navigation tool.
