This GPS has been something of a disappointment. I bought it because it was supposed to be simple and easy to operate. Well if you know what you are doing I suppose that WOULD have been true. However, as I made very clear to the sales rep, I don't know squat about this technology. First night I'm trying to "update the map database" That takes hours!. Then for reasons unknown, The update fails to install complete files, so the drive is "corrupted" and the device will not work! I took it back to the store, where the Geek Squad got things working in part, and told me that I needed to take it back home to the laptop I used to make the connection to the company and let the machine start over. I did as instructed and it DID work out. Now there is the issue of how to read the directions in the manual that's IN the device, when you want to USE the device. Can't be done because you cannot switch from the manual of instructions to working on the device itself. The interface is anything BUT easy to use. I'm still working on trying to be able to successfully USE this machine and I'm really not a happy camper about it. It might be better with a printed owners manual so you could move step by step. In that respect it is remarkably poorly designed. I'm tempted to return it and get lost.

The Garmin-Drive 51 LM 5 is much improved over the previous version I owned and uses, My older version was about 12 years old and has been very reliable. I expect this version to be even better and so far I am correct. Thank You!!

Needed an updated Garmin. Our old one was very slow. Works very well.

This is my second Garmin. I have a mobile phone with the GPS maps on it but it is hard to see when driving. The Garmin is easy to use, it will find restaurants, gas stations, ec. and has a larger screen than my phone.

This replaced our old Garmin which died of old age. We are very happy with it. It is easy to use and mounts easily in our car. My grandson also likes to play with it and change the vehicles on diaplay.

I bought this GPS for my daughter. She loves it. It's just like the one I have. It has always worked correctly for me. Easy to set up destinations and always gets me back home.

My wife, who is not a "GPS person" finally decided she wanted a GPS. I got her this Garmin and she loves it. It's been really easy to program with lots of her favorite destinations. The coverage of the database is amazing.

Took less than an hour to update maps. Very simple to use, and easy for an older person to hear and see.

Fast and updates easily. Definitely can upgrade from older models

I have used Garmin for years and while on a trip my old one just stopped working. I was near a Best Buy so I just got one of the new GPS. It's been very good so far and I'm sure it will last as long as the old one.

Can’t beat the unlimited map updates. Parking, gas stations, banks etc. icons can be accessed while you already have a destination set just by touching the icon on the screen. Great when you need a parking garage in the city.

I like my Garmin - Drive 51 LM 5" GPS with Lifetime Map Updates

I purchased this Garmin to replace an older model that wore out after 10+ years of use. This Garmin has useful features and is easy to operate. It includes helpful alerts with a chime and a screen notation.

Would have given five stars but I've had problems with the cord and had to replace it paying $18 for another cord but love the Garmin very user-friendly better than any one I've ever had

I have been utilizing Garmin products for many years. They are by far the best and easiest to update of all the GPS Navigators I have used.

Its a good device I got it for a good deal duuring thanksgiving

Bought on sale as a gift for my father. I have a similar model that is a few years older. The newer model is slimmer and seems to have a better, more accurate touchscreen. Very intuitive and easy to use for the non-technical.

I went looking for a TomTom because that is what I was used to but so far the Garmin has been just as reliable.

The best part of this GPS has to be the screen size. I have used in all times of the day and the screen is just perfect. I would recommend this unit to anyone that needs a GPS!
