The GPS I purchased is something that I really needed. I use it a 100% of time for my job. I travel all over USA 10 months out of the year.

I love my Garmin 51 LM. The feature I love best is the free lifetime map updates. Also I enjoy the apps that are included with the device.

I purchased this to replace a Magellan gps. This one is so much better, easy to set up, program and use. I will definitely stick with Garmin from now on.

Drive 51 LM 5" GPS worked fine the first year - providing navigation when you don't have access to mobile phone network. It is very useful when you are travelling out of the town in remote areas such as many of the national parks. All you need to do is to update your GPS unit with the latest map before an extended trip. However, this past summer, after one year, the GPS became unstable. From time to time, it would turn itself off unexpectedly even when it's connected to power via the USB cable. Some time you can turn it back on, but some time you can't. Essentially I was not able to turn it on during the second half of a trip. Not sure if it has something to do with the pressure when we were in the mountains, but I was able to turn it back on after I returned to home. It could be a problem with just this unit, but I really don't know.

It is nice not to have to ask people for directions. Go anywhere you want without worrying about getting lost.

Have had an old garmin for years and finally decided to upgrade. The lifetime maps is amazing, took it out of the box and already had updates.

I never get lost with this. One time I could t find my way out of the backyard. But thank goodness for trusty Garmin I hot home safely.

Bought this to replace an older model without map updating. Works great. Still has pronunciation issues e.g. LPGA Blvd is pronounced "Lipga".
