On our recent trip south, it was decent, but not as descriptive as I would have liked. Not as responsive as I need but did the job.

I had an older model Garmin GPS and I want to replace it and I really like this new one I'm doing a lot of trips up to New Hampshire so I needed something more reliable than the one I had it works great I always buy Garmin

I just love this Garmin GPS, it shows you way ahead of time what lane to be in..It really helped visiting my parents some of the lanes where 4 and it told me exactly what lane to be in, and the pic of it...love it.!!

Good for what it is supposed to do; no traffic updates, but could not see spending additional @ $50 for it.

Easy to use. PLUS -- shows both the road you are on and the one coming up. Shows railroads for the train buffs!! Displays the speed you are going and posted speed limit.

I bought this Garmin GPS for my son. He owns a really old pick up truck and was using his phone to find his way around. Needless to say I didn’t want him using his phone while driving. This was the perfect solution.

I bought this GPS for myself. My husband doesn't go with me much in summer for sports outing for our grandkids due to health. This will help me find where I am going and peace of mind that I won't get lost

The maps are spot-on for our area. We have so many new subdivisions that my old Tom Tom just could not keep up. The graphics are easy to read, and the voice-directions are "early" enough to give time to change lanes if needed.

Purchased item for Spouses car as it did not have NAVI. We've had Garmin GPS units in the past however this one is absolutely perfect, simple to use, modern updates, and fits the needs of the discerning traveler

I do Not have a Smart Phone and grew weary of Printing Out Map Quest Directions; Hence, this GARMIN Product was a Wise Purchase. Easy to Set Up and Operate=Very Pleased!! Thank You, Sincerely, MSR Haverhill, MA

This GPS has many features, options and more. However, so far, my complaint would be that the volume isn't loud enough to compete with even lite-traffic or a slightly opened window.

I do deliveries and this GPS has saved me from a lot of distraction by looking at this instead of my phone this GPS has cross streets and alerts for curves and school zones plus free updates and speed limits for most roads

Familar interface from my older Garmin made transition easy. The 51 has much worse battery life. The battery will not hold a charge.

My original Garmin was stolen from my car. Was lost without it. Glad to have one again. This is an impressive product. Did, however, have a couple instances of my original Garmin giving me incorrect directions.

This was a replacement and so far it really works nicely. A few changes I'm getting used to but overall I really like it. Was especially happy that I could download my pls "saved places"

I just moved upstate where getting online is difficult. With intermittent phone signal, Garmin has definitely helped me move around towns without the stress of getting lost. Very reliable and easy to use too!

Great unit and I use it a lot - only issue is that you have to press really hard on the screen - could do to be a little more touch sensitive.

Purchased this for my mom while she house sat for me. She is not tech savvy but was able to get this up and running in no time and her herself around while I was in vacation.

I have not used all the features but basic map and directions work well. I bought a beanbag gizmo so it sits in the dashboard and can easily be tucked out of sight when the car is parked away from home.

I was on the road and my GPS was not working in the area I was in. Went to Best Buy in Sioux Falls and purchased a new one that covered the entire 48 states. Found out how to make the lifetime updates work.
