I needed a new GPS. My old one was 10 years old. I like the 6 inch screen on the Garmin. It tells you ahead of time when to turn. I am not using up data on my phone. We love it.

Good sized screen with helpful information. The speed limits are not always up to date so you get dinged every so often when traveling faster than Garmin thinks you should. You can turn it off, though. I like the way it gives you a visual image of the approaching exit, interchange or intersection. Many other nice features, so I highly recommend it.

I am pleased with the GPS system I purchased. I have found out that if an article comes with an instruction manual, it is there to read BEFORE attempting to put it into operation. I did and I had no problem with making the system ready to use when I need it. I suggest that all sales associates place emphasis on reading the manuals at the time of sale/

My 70 year old mother had a tom Tom that she hated. We got her this and she says it is so user friendly.

I purchased this GPS for use on a long road trip (MI to FL) to avoid using Cell data via Google Maps, which would be my usual go-to GPS. At first, the unit seemed good. The interface is generally very responsive to touch and comes with extra features that are fairly nice to have. HOWEVER, the issues with the system become apparent when driving long distances. The issues I had WERE NOT RELATED to my unit specifically, but rather the quality of the Garmin systems in general - and they highlight the utter lack of need for standalone GPS systems. After updating the installed software on the unit and updating to the latest map updates, I found three major issues with the Garmin system as a whole: 1) Even on the latest map updates, the maps were not correct for new road changes, etc., even in new construction areas that had been completed for 1+ year 2) Speed limit guidance was HORRIBLY inaccurate 3) Driver alerts (locations of interest, red light cameras, etc) were often inaccurate, though not as often as speed limit guidance This experience has highlighted why standalone GPS systems are no longer relevant. I will be returning this product.
