We like this one! It tells you which lane to be in for turns, and has every coming cross streets on the screen. Voice command is the feature I like. My husband isn't caught out poking at the screen when the light turns green. It does one strange thing, it says you're going off road when turning into a parking lot. Though I suppose, strictly speaking, you are indeed off road.

Garmin is not what they used to be.

I've used Garmin for years and in my opinion, they were king of the GPS hill. I've tried TomTom and Magellan units and returned them within a couple of days. However...I just returned my second and last DriveSmart 60LMT since May 2016. 1) The bluetooth never automatically connects with my phone. It always says that the connection failed and then I have to connect it manually...EVERY SINGLE TIME.My phone has no problem connecting with other bluetooth devices. 2) It's a bigger screen than my previous unit but shows less information. For example, on the previous unit I could setup three different windows to show. I had current time, arrival time, and arrival distance all displayed simultaneously. On the 60LMT you only get to display one. 3) I wish that you could turn off voice instructions but still have audible alerts. Nope, can't do it. It's voice instructions AND alerts or nothing at all. 4) The real deal killer. Their current map database has problems. I work field service and travel to several different sites in a day. I frequently enter addresses that it couldn't find. Sometimes trying different address numbers would yield a result that was close but a lot of times that didn't work either; I had to enter intersections. Well that's fine if you know the intersection by the address. If not, then I would look it up on Google Maps. Kind of defeats the purpose of a GPS unit doesn't it? If I, as a single user, am discovering several unknown addresses, how many thousands upon thousands nationwide are missing? I contacted tech support and they are aware of the problem. They made changes to the database that resulted in better accuracy but resulted in several missing addresses. Their advice to me was to contact them when I discovered these unknown addresses and they would make the corrections. So basically, I'm supposed to act as their personal cartographer? 5) Wacky directions sometimes. - It would tell me to exit a freeway and then upon exiting would tell me to get back on the freeway. - Will sometimes recalculate a different route just after making a turn requiring you to turn around. - Downright bad sometimes. It will sometimes route me past my destination and route me around in a big loop right back to where I was. - When searching for a category while moving, such as gas, the results are almost always everything behind you, not along your current route. While searching for a McDonald's one time, it listed several that were many miles behind me. While stopped at a red light, I looked over to my right and guess what, there was a McDonald's right at the intersection. That McDonald's was in the list but I had to scroll to the bottom of the list to find it. In summary: It's not worthy of the Garmin logo.

Using this to replace a TomTom which after a few years battery quit holding a charge and can't be replaced. This is excellent choice for portable use at home or in the car.

My eyes are getting older, so I wanted a bigger Garmin, and this one doesn't disappoint. Every Garmin I've had has been great, so why try anything else???

Can't believe why we waited so long to get a new gps? We were tired of burning data while using our phones as a gps. Small screen and poor quality. This new unit is awesome and we loved all the prompts along our journey! Can't wait for road trip number 2

Just received this unit. Since it comes with unlimited map upgrades, i decided to update the software and maps immediately. After nearly a two hour download, the unit came up with a warning that it was nearly out of memory and that i should install a memory chip. Really! Garmin ships their units with their memory nearly full? Too soon to tell if i have any other issues yet but this is a disappointing first step. I had been a loyal Magellan customer prior to this purchase. Perhaps i converted prematurely.

    Worst GPS I've ever owned

Ever since I bought this GPS less than a year ago I've had issues with it. I've called garmin numerous times and they never solve the issue. Now this GPS won't even connect to a computer to update, nor does the "traffic updates" work even with the supplied power cable. I will never buy another garmin again.
