Customers are saying
Customers find value in the DriveSmart 61 LMT-S's large screen size, ease of use, and accurate GPS navigation, frequently praising its voice command functionality and free lifetime map updates. However, some users express concerns regarding the device's limited battery life and the effectiveness of its traffic features. The navigation system, while generally well-received, has received some criticism for occasionally suggesting less-than-optimal routes. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments.

Awesome GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Couldn't be easier to use. Bluetooth, voice command, wifi to make everything easier. This thing is HUGE. You'd have to be blind to miss a turn with this GPS. Gives voice directions, multiple customization options, etc. Wish they would've made this sooner.

Great GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third Garmin gps. I really like it. It gets me where I want to go with its maps and voice prompts. It has lifetime maps and traffic. The traffic is paired with your smartphone via Bluetooth. A traffic receiver cord is available separately if you don’t want to use your phone. The 6.95 inch screen is very easy to see and the volume is good. The voice command works great. It’s easy to update the maps with wi-fi.

Maps are Outdated and Incomplete, Wrong Speed Limi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high hopes for this navigation unit, but i am really disappointed, I spent $269 on this unit and it is certainly not worth it, When i got it, I updated it as soon as possible and it took 3.5 hours to download the update. I had really hope that it would have updated maps but, I did not notice any updates to maps but, maybe it added a couple of software updates, I do not know how Garmin their maps but, unless they have a car out here like Google does to drive around and constantly update maps then it is pretty much useless for me, I drove out to West Texas and outside the major freeways the car, which is shows most of the time in an open field and these are on roads that have been in existence for a long time. NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION SHOWING ABOUT ROADS AHEAD. If you are driving down the freeway and are curious about the roads coming up, forget about seeing it on this Garmin, All itg does is show the freeway and if you zoom in, there is not much difference. If you search for an address and start to navigate, it seems to be that Garmin would remember that address when you start typing it in again. It does not remember what you typed before and to me this is useless. Sometimes after you search for an address and then stop navigating, if you go back and search for the address again, Garmin cannot find the address again,. When trying to navigate to a city, you have to go into the categories and scroll down through all of the bs before finally getting to the intersections and cities., This should be at the top not at the bottom. ALSO, YOU WILL BE CAUGHT SPEEDING IF YOU RELY ON THIS GARMIN FOR CORRECT SPEED LIMITS, SPEED LIMIT IS WRONG MOST OF THE TIME. GARMIN DOES NOT RECOGNIZE CONSTRUCTION ZONES ON INTERSTATES THAT HAVE BEEN THERE FOR A LONG TIME. Sure there is a nice big screen but, unless it can navigate and recognize where you are instead of not knowing at all as to where you are then it is pretty much worthless as a navigation unit. I would think that it would be adaptive and learn new routes. It does not seem to do this., I believe it says that there is a 2 hour battery life, THIS IS A COMPLETE MISREPRESENTATION , as soon as you unplug the unit, it immediately within 10 seconds powers down. I WILL RETURN THIS UNIT AND I MAY AS WELL USE MY OLD MAGELLAN THAT IS 5 OR 6 YEARS OLD BECAUSE THIS UNIT IS NOT MUCH BETTER. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND I DO NOT KNOW HOW IN THE WORLD THAT THIS UNIT HAS SUCH HIGH REVIEWS ON BEST BUY UNLESS MAYBE THE BEST BUY EMPLOYEES ARE THE ONES WRITING THE REVIEWS

Not worth it, the aggrivation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gps bought arrived with issues. Turns off when searching for parking, then does that randomly on route on some days. Voice Command has improved and so has the size of the display, but the battery also dies in 45 minutes when not plugged in AND even sometime when plugged in FREE traffic detector was never good, now it doesn't work at all. Still likes hellhill road, and 2-3 other useless re-routes. LOST voice selections, Car customizations and all the other FREE add-ons I rated it average because its still near %100 functional getting you on route - until of course it decides to turn off by itself. Light Blue on Orange text for finding places!.. Are you are kidding ... very impossible to read.

Great GPS.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this GPS, it has a great looking big screen, nice features, my wife likes it that she can see her text and make phone calls without picking up her phone, The GPS is very accurate and very detailed. It tells you when a winding road is coming up, it tells you when a stop light is coming and traffic(though you have to use the Garmin app to see these features and connect it to your phone via Bluetooth) I definitely recommend this.

All that I wanted in a GPS!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this gps to replace one i had for 6 or 7 years now. Wow, what a difference a few years and much better technology makes. I love this gps because of the built in bluetooth, large screen size and the lifetime traffic and map updates. Touchscreen works easily and it even has add on features like backup camera. I would highly reccomend this gps if you are in the market or your car just doesn't have one.

Pricey but worth it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my fourth Garmin unit. Because of my familiarity with using a Garmin, there was only a small learning curve, as many operations were familiar to me. It does all of the things that I expected a GPS to do. I will tell you about the items that were new to me. Updates: I have owned several GPS units in the past. I have struggled with my laptop computer attempting to do a valid update. To update this unit, I just simply put in the house Wi-Fi password, and told it to update. It updated both the programming and the maps, and when finished, it simply re-booted and was ready to use. Easy! It included lifetime updates. Big screen: Over 6 inches wide, and easy to see while driving. Voice Command: Accepts most common commands verbally. I just get in the car, (my cigarette lighter turns on when I open the door, thus turning on the GPS), I sit in the seat and say the words “voice command”, then “go home”. I am then guided to my home. If I say the word “address”, I can verbally put in most addresses, and it will find them. It accepts several other commands, that I have not tried yet. Camera: My 2015 Ford C-Max has no room for a standard radio with it’s large display screen. I have the optional Garmin back up camera that automatically uses the GPS display screen when I put the car into reverse. The picture is darker than my back up cameras that I had on three previous cars, but it is acceptable. This is a great solution when you do not really have space to put another screen in the car for the back up camera. Bluetooth: It will Bluetooth to your smart phone, and I understand that you can get traffic updates by using the data on your smart phone. I have not done this yet. This was totally worth the money I paid for it.

All in the details of Navigation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My very first stand alone navigation unit and I love it! This Unit has bright, large; detailed display and up to date maps! What more can you ask for you say?! It even warns me to slow down; because I was speeding! This Unit is easy to use and does everything, even checks my messages from my phone; since it's Bluetooth capable. Thanks Garmin and Best Buy for providing me with something practical and that works!!

Garmin DriveSmart 61 LMT-S
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Garmin. I've used TomTom GPS for years. I thought I'd try out the Garmin since I've heard some good things about Garmin. I purchased this GPS on sale during the 2017 holidays for right under $200. I purchased it for highway or road trip travel, so I haven't use the traffic feature. The screen size is bigger than I expected but I love the huge screen. Easy to learn how to use. Turn by turn feature is good, good customization. Travel related apps on GPS is a nice feature. Level of sound is good, WiFi feature is very convenient for updates. Battery life needs improvement. Battery charges kinda slow. Map updates is a bit slow too. Had trouble updating maps the first time over WiFi. Overall, so far I'm satisfied with my purchase of this GPS.

Easy to read and use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the larger display and voice directions. Sometimes the display can be confusing when you have an exit off an exit (freeway exit, then another quick freeway exit, for instance). It doesn’t switch soon enough to your next step and then you have passed your “second” exit. An overall display of your trip would be nice too, similar to Apple or Google maps, but usually I just pull up my destination on my phone to see how it is trying to take me. I wish it allowed you to simply touch and drag to modify your route (again like maps on your phone) The initial install/update was not easy to do as the Garmin Express software was anything BUT express or easy. I am hoping my future updates happen quicker now that I did the first install of the software. I know it says you can connect to your phone for up-to-date information but I feel if I was going to use my phones for info or even data, I would just use my phone for navigation too. It’s not practical. Lastly, it would be nice to have a soft cloth storage bag to put it in when it is not in use. I don’t want to invite a break in by leaving it hooked up on my dash or windshield so having a soft cloth bag to clean and store it would be amazing. With all that being said, it sounds like I hate this thing. I don’t! I just want my negatives to be known so you can decide if you can live with them. This Garmin has saved me hours of hunting for addresses, houses and routes from city to city and state to state as I travel in the wake of storms for my company. (I work In insurance as a Catastrophe Adjuster)

Excellent! I'm a Waze fan - but this is awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite my initial impression, this has completely won me over. Wanted to try a dedicated GPS again. Been using Waze for a couple of years and thought I would go back to a Garmin GPS. Interface is still similar to years ago (and that's a GOOD thing!). It was like finding an old favorite shirt - fit nice, super comfy, already broken in. At first I was skeptical - but once I downloaded the SmartLink app on my iPhone, it really completed the experience. Super easy to navigate, weather, traffic, voice commands to look up points of interest (gas, food, etc...). Two things that Waze doesn't do, that this Garmin does... weather and when you look up "Starbucks" or "Food", it gives you results based on distance and it has a small arrow pointing in the direction that the place is!!!!! Waze is always thinking I should turn around and drive back 3 exits to get a cup of coffee....how about the nearest coffee shop IN FRONT OF ME! Thank you Garmin (by the way, Garmin has been doing this for at least 10 years). 5 stars. I paid the $5 for the app that gives you weather radar over your map/route, which I cannot believe is not available on a smartphone. Oh, and it lets you initiate and end phone calls, will access your contacts (if you choose to allow it) - it will even display and read text messages to you! It's really a nice overall package. The Voice Command feature is easy to use. I have very little trouble with it - super intuitive. It's nice to not wear my battery out with navigation on my phone - not to mention a bigger, dedicated screen. Two thumbs up. I still love Waze, but Garmin is in first place and gets used 95% of the time!

Works great big screen!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 6 inch screen is so nice compared to the smaller screened gps. I like how it shows me what my next turn will look like ahead which helps a lot with getting off at exits where there is more than one together when traveling across the United states! I use my Garmin weekly for travel for work and also for vacation travels as well and have not had any issues and the free map upgrades is a huge bonus and so easy to install! The screen is easy to navigate and I also like how easy it is to add a stop to my route when I am already on the road! My husband even uses this gps and he is not very good with technology and has no issues using this gps and he really likes the larger size screen while we are driving!
