I worry that GPS units are falling behind the in-phone units but this one seems to toe the line. The Garmins update every six months and the phones update more often, but the Garmin seems to know where it's going. An important thing, for me is the speed function. I can just look and see what the speed limit is at all times. The speedometer function seems more accurate than the one in my car. My phone doesn't have the speed function. It is big and easy to see. I keep it on my dash with the shot bag (available separately).

This is a very good GPS, I purchased it to get a larger screen for my backup camera. Works really well in my truck since the back tailgate sits up high and nearly impossible to really see behind the truck while backing. {it's an older truck}. This will plug into the Garmin sending unit without a problem.

I had an older Garmin (LMT1450) that finally died on me after 8 years. Switching to this was a welcomed improvement. The screen size is great, and it does fantastic in my older vehicle that does not have modern electronics. Hopefully this one will last another 8 years. It does take a little bit to get used to the workings of it, but that is to be expected.

I needed something simple to use for a long trip and this filled the bill. The GPS got me out of a few jams that I steered into and got me to my destination. I felt confident in the device and it was extremely easy to operate. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I have had 4 Garmin navigators over the years. The newest one is working OK so far. But I had problems with the others. One went crazy on me, and the one that replaced it became outdated, so both of them were junked. The other one that I have now is the same model as the new one and I've kept it as a backup just in case. It doesn't work sometimes for no reason and then comes back to life later on for some reason. I was warned at Best Buy to pay for a replacement plan for the new one as they have seen it as a good thing to do for the Garmins. They are right, I think.

used over a year already and have had no issues. Receiving notifications of texts/updates when connected to my phone is a plus too. Has the capability of handling calls that come across your phone when connected but I turned that option off. Free map and software updates over wifi is a huge plus, but i have found you need to be connected to a home wifi system. Cant use (nor would I recommend) a "commercial" wifi such as McDonald's or anything. Love the traffic alerts and the other features that are on it. Too many to list.

we have not used it cross country yet but it seems to work well locally. It was easy to set up and appears to be better than the GPS that came with our car.

This is a very useful addition for the traveler. One of the best features is the notifications for available updates coupled with the ability to automatically connect to your home WiFi. Result is great updates without the need to remove from the vehicle to plug into a computer. Another great feature is the dynamic traffic updates. You can see the congestion on the road in plenty of time to select an alternate route (this is without a programmed destination selected). Best one yet. I've used Garmin for several years and this is the best unit I've had.

Overall a nice unit. Good size screen. A little heavy for the suction window mount. (It fell off in the hot sun last week several times.) Bluetooth interface was kind of annoying because my phone gets too many notices constantly, but I shut it off. Traffic reports don't always seem to come through and detours could do a better job of explaining what they are doing and give you more options. A good purchase, overall.
