great
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this GPS! I love the size of the screen. It is user friendly. The options are great. Garmin has always been a great brand of GPS, I have bought others before and I never had any trouble with any of them. The price from Best Buy is always a plus.

Great GPS and easy to use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this GPS and it was a great purchase. Its very easy to set up and use. The screen is vivid and easy to read. The print size is perfect for us. I would definitely recommend purchasing it. We only encountered 2 odd issues that we were unsuccessful in resolving. The "hey Garmin" voice command only recognized my voice...not my husband. Also while testing some other features we found that we were unable to adjust the MAX speed MPH. It is preset at 75 and the + and - signs are grayed. We have had it for about a month and we like it.

Nice GPS with great features
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My car GPS system failed to work and I needed a GPS to fill in for a couple of weeks while the dealership ordered a replacement. This was a perfect choice. I like it better than the in-dash one in my car.

Nice big bright screen thats easy to navigate
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used a 3.5" garmin i think previous to this, wow what an upgrade. Touching the screen is like butter, very bright and clear. Love it. Use it for work and it made my job a lot easier. No longer almost getting into accidents trying to navigate a small screen. Well worth it if you need a new garmin.

Great GPS
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This GPS is awesome. It does everything we need and has free upgrades for RV use. Very useful tool. We did curbside pickup in our motor home on the way out on a trip. So convenient and safe.

Wonderful
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my new Garmin! I decided to upgrade from my old nuvi 2589LMT model which has a 5" screen. This new model is wonderful! The screen is bright and clear even in daylight. And at 7" it is easier to type in a destination address. The built-in notifications for school zones and railroad crossing are great but I wish it had a multi-chime ring instead of just one ping.

Excellent performer, with a few minor drawbacks
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pleased with the Garmin DriveSmart 65. I haven't experienced the problems described in some other reviews. True, it did take a long time to initially update the software and data, over night even through a wired network connection, but this is not an ongoing issue. In use, the unit performs well. It boots up and acquires signal quickly, the directions are accurate and quickly recalculate upon diverging from the planned route, the screen is easy to read, the audio is clear, and it was easy to attach to the windshield with the included mounting pieces. So far, the suction cup has not come loose (and can be a little difficult to remove), but the weather has not been hot, so potential problems with the unit falling off cannot be entirely ruled out; fortunately, aftermarket alternatives are easily available. It is easy to enter new addresses, but the procedure took a little while to figure out at first. A downside of the address list is that it cannot be sorted alphabetically, except perhaps by deleting and re-entering everything in alpha order, because it remains in the order the addresses were entered. When entering addresses with the unit not plugged into power, the charge lasted about an hour. The USB cable is a little disappointing, with an outdated USB 2 type B mini connection at the unit end, and the socket placement on the rear of the unit pretty much requires that the cable be plugged in before being mounted on the windshield attachment. The operating cable is about 68" long, including the cigarette lighter plug end. A shorter cable, with a USB type A plug at the other end for attaching to a PC or phone charger, is about 14" long. The outdated technology here may contribute to the long update times. One thing that surprised me was how light the unit is for its size, lighter than my rather small phone. Others have complained about the plastic construction, but this contributes to the light weight, and the light weight puts less strain on the windshield attachments. It's not at all flimsy. Finally, the unit is a little awkward to store or transport because the mounting components do not fold flat. Given updated USB technology, a clearer user interface for entering addresses, a sortable address list, and more compact attachment pieces, the unit would support a 5-star rating. For the same price, of course.

Great GPS Despite Garmin Website Glitches
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having an older Garmin GPS and another brand, I was motivated to purchase this DriveSmart 65 after the older GPS took me on a wild goose chase on a recent long-distance trip. Initially, nothing worked well or right when I attempted to register the GPS and to download the maps. Having crossed that hurdle I am very pleased with the super speed of the GPS, the detail to the maps and the Voice direction instructions. Connected to the smart phone, the GPS is a very good hands-free speaker. Wish I'd bought this GPS about a year ago and highly recommend it compared with the more costly options.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the size of this Garmin. The live traffic is very helpful. All the info provided is awesome. I have owned 2 Garmin's before this one and have been pleased. The only complaint that I have is that the color of the screen is very light. There is not much color

So far so good.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This model works fine. I have discovered that you can’t rely on the speed limit that it shows for several roads so be careful. We have not yet used the garmin app with it so I can’t comment on how well the two work together. The big screen is excellent!
