It did keep the rout saved and all we had to do was click the map and the rout was still active. Other then that it did great.

The Garmin DriveSmart 65 provided my work vehicle with all the tech of a new car.

We just have not had the time to check it out thoroughly. It does have a problem with changing from the map at inappropriate times to what says coordinates.

The traffic alerts and rest stop suggestions come in handy on longer trips I also like the poi detailed listings. Overall it works flawlessly and the lifetime map updates are a real plus.

The data on my iPhone was blowing up. Bought this Garmin and it saved our lives. Such a relief to know you're actually going to reach your destination

You should not need a smart phone to use a Garmin!

I am 77 years old, live alone, and do not need a smart phone. In fact, I don't have an operational cell phone, because the best rates are $20/month!! My land line is more cost effective. I go out once a week and make nearly all of my stops in one trip. Yes BB took it back, but because I returned it 4 days "late" it cost me $50!! I am not happy. Retired people plan local trips to keep fuel cost and vehicle maintenance low. My old Tom Tom works fine. My only complaint is that the screen is too small, I can DL map updates from the internet. I wanted a larger screen, my reason for "upgrading" but will not purchase a Smart Phone, or pay the high monthly for occasional mapping!

While pairing the device to the Garmin Drive™ App provides additional features such as hands free calling, smart notifications, weather and more, it is not a requirement and the device functions for navigation without pairing to a smartphone. The device can be updated wirelessly when connected to a home Wi-Fi network.
