Best GPS I’ve bought. I went on a trip out west. I accidentally left my GPS at home. This is the best GPS that I’ve ever bought. It has a lot of different stuff on it. Speed zones. Parks.

I bought this Garmin to put in my truck that had neither navigation or a backup camera. I paired this with the Garmin camera and it all installed easily and quickly. The voice command is extremely helpful when driving!

My wife and I purchased this for our son's Christmas gift. He is a police officer and wanted his own GPS for his police car. He is very pleased and uses it daily.

I love this gps. The screen is big enough and bright enough to sit on the dash of my truck and remain clearly visible regardless of the glare from the sun. It's quick to respond, and there's hardly any delay between one direction to the next.

You should not need a smart phone to use a Garmin!

It requires a smart phone to download maps!! I am 77 years old, live alone, and do not need a smart phone. In fact, I don't have an operational cell phone, because the best rates are $20/month!! My land line is more cost effective. I go out once a week and make nearly all of my stops in one trip. Yes BB took it back, but because I returned it 4 days "late" it cost me $50!! I am not happy. Retired people plan local trips to keep fuel cost and vehicle maintenance low. My old Tom Tom works fine. My only complaint is that the screen is too small, I can DL map updates from the internet. I wanted a larger screen, my reason for "upgrading" but will not purchase a Smart Phone, or pay the high monthly for occasional mapping!

Thank you for your review! The Garmin DriveSmart™ 65 & Traffic does not require a smartphone to use the device. While pairing the device to the Garmin Drive™ App provides additional features such as hands free calling, smart notifications, weather and more, it is not a requirement and the device functions for navigation without pairing to a smartphone. The device can be updated wirelessly when connected to a home Wi-Fi network. The device is easy to use but it is short on instructions or warnings , example when you first start it up The information may not be as accurate. A warm up Is required to receive the most accurate data. I discovered this the hard way, experience.

Had old Garmin that still worked, but hadn't been updated in years and was so old we had to pay to update. Planning to go to destination we hadn't gone before, so purchased new Garmin. Worked flawlessly and if anything like old one, will be with us for many years. Was disappointed it didn't come with a zip up cover or pouch like the old one. Have to try to find one.

This is a replacement unit to one that broke. It is by far the best. It gives an audible alert if you exceed the speed limit, show alerts for schools and the voice commands you can use are amazing. Traffic reports are great.

The GPS looks good and works good. However sometimes it has issues finding the best route. Example - we were going from Riverside, CA to Los Angles Airport LAX, Usually it would take 1 hour 15 mins , GPS showed a way around the city and showed 2 hours time. Its always better to get your google maps before going with Garmin GPS. The good point is it works brilliantly in National parks , example in Joushua Tree , google maps did not work as there was no signal but Garmin GPS worked perfectly.

Nice that says things like "turn at the traffic light" rather than turn now as earlier models did. Large display makes keyboard easy to use. I haven't explored all the features yet, though clearly there are many.

The store clerk who helped me took the time to dig through the stores stock to find what I wanted. His inventory said one was in the store, and indeed, he found it, buried, but there!

I like the GPS unit. Easy to use as always. Got the 6.95" screen, its so nice to see what is up ahead on a larger unit compared to an older least detailed screen of my Garmin unit, 5' screen size.

Works pretty well. Better than the last model I had that was about 5 years old. However, it doesn't give you the shortest or fastest route all of the time. I watch the time and distance change when I go a different route than what its tell me.
