My previous GPS was 15 or 20 years old. Enough said. You don't even need to touch this unit..... voice commands rule! Love it, love it, love it. Free lifetime map update too.... not on my old unit. You won't be sorry purchasing this GPS.

Love the way it alerts me of any traffic and gives me options to other routes. Shows both the names of streets and route numbers ahead of time, so i never have to miss my turn. Love it

This Garmin unit equipped with bluetooth is excellant. It brought my 20th century truck into the 21st century, with smart phone pairing, it works perfectly. Very happy with this one.

Entering "go to" addresses is less than desireable

Needed a fully featured voice activated GPS and this really best fit my needs and was on sale as well. I like the voice command feature which makes it safe and easy to use when driving so you dont have to use your cell phone and drain the battery.

The only reason why I got this model was because I travel to mexico a lot and needed a good GPS. (the GPS on my phone does not work in Mexico) I had used an older model and always gave misguided me. This model was actually good.

Took a few hours to figure out how it functions, after that it is great.

The Garmin Nuvi 2589 LMT is the best GPS I have ever had. It knows traffic, helps with detours, speaks clearly and timely. And for those of us that have an older car, it works well as a speaker for your phone for hands free talking.

This is an upgrade from our older GPS. It is really bright and has less glitches.

Garmin is the only GPS I use. The display is clear and the directions are always spot-on. I had backed up my favorites from my old Garmin before I traded it in. Transferring them to the new one was easy using Garmin Express.

I read several reviews about the best GPS for elderly people and found the Garmin would do a great job. Best Buy had it at a great price, and my parents caught on quickly and appreciate the crisp display and intuitive interface.

I debated on the Nuvi and the drivesmart. I bought drive smarts for my wife and son but did not want to spend so much on mine. I can't tell any difference between this and the drivesmart. I am very satisfied with this for the price.

I purchaced this in Bangor Maine and used it the next day to go through Maine,Vermont and New Hampshire,New York, and Canada. I had never been to this area and it worked great

The 2589lmt Garmin is a great unit for the average user. Very easy to set up and use. The traffic is a plus for this unit as it will alert you to congestion on the road ahead. The ability to show reference landmarks make it very easy to follow.

Bought as a replacement for an older Garmin. Excellent screen resolution.

Extremely clear view. Works very well. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

I have an older Garmin GPS. I got this for my wife and have used it when we're in her car. The voice command feature can really help you when you need to make changes while you drive, which, when you have kids, can happen often.

Having just bought a new car without GPS, I knew I needed to get a new system. Since my last car had an OEM system, I have not used an aftermarket system in a few years. They have managed to come a long way, and this unit is exponentially better than the OEM or aftermarket system I have used before. I was originally looking at Tomtom, since I have had many of their units going back to the PDA days. After failing to find a current unit with good reviews, I decided to try the well-liked Garmin. This unit looks better than the other units on display, and the function is very good. The lane guidance and photos of various off-ramps and interchanges is also very beneficial, especially when you have 3 or more road converging at once. The unit is very fast and quick to recalculate.
